I was outside of the city, with a bud going for a coffee the next town over, about 50 miles from my city, when my back tire blew. We were headed back to the city, and about 2 km's out of the town, she went. Luckily enough I was able to stop the bike without dropping it, spun around, leaned HARD on the tank, and wrode it back into town. Lucky enough for me, even though they are a small town, they had a Suzuki mechanic....strangely convienent. Either way, I had to get a wider tire then what I previously rode (was on a 160/60 17, now a 170/60 17) as there were none in stock in my old size, and they just happened to have a GSXR tire that fit. I'm just happy my bud was there to help me out. Was a $240 day, but I'm not in the hospital, so I'm happy as I could be.
lucky escape there! you going to stick with the wider tire or replace it with the correct size?
i've never had a blowout on the bike before, had it once in a car i used to own....not a pleasant experience on 4 wheels so I'd imagine it must be frickin scary on two wheels.

I'm probably just going to stick with this tire until I sell, maybe next season....
After I lost the tire, it felt like I was drifting EVERYWHERE, like the back tire was on ice. I'm just glad it wasn't the front, or I'd be toast...

Am I the only person who think's this is too much of a coincidence? ;)

It's weird, i know. They are a Polaris (snowmobile), Suzuki and Quad dealer. The town is called Cochrane, Alberta. Thank god they were there though, or I'd wouldn't have made it too far!

wise man once say
breakdown recovery worth own weight in gold
or as yc would put it
if front tyre goes just use back tyre to get home more fun too
Well done for bringing it to a stop.
Had one on my car back tire but I ended up in the hedge :(

HEAVY use of the front brake is what saved my skin. That and almost having to sit on the tank to keep weight off the rear tire.
