heard about this in MCN and apparently its available from places like Dogcam or Action Cameras ..
With all the chat about mounting bike cameras and / or gps units , has anyone ever actually used this stuff ??

It sounds like it would be perfect for mounting me gps etc -- if I could find anywhere in the NW who stocked it !!

Thanks for your help, as always

Yeah ! That looks like the stuff - not to be confused with Black Magic Tack which is something to do with clothing turn ups ........

Brilliant, ta !

but does it work ?????
Am I going to find my aging and historic Garmin sat nav (which has still 14 hours battery life ) bouncing down the road ... ?

It would be fine for fixing bullet cameras/small leds I guess. Don't know if I would trust it on a GPS though ?

that stuff looks like car door card tape. i wouldn't trust it to hold anything.

Just bought the dogcam HD bullet, mounted it to my lid using the sticky back velcro mount which is provided at purchase. Once fitted I quickly realised that I wasnt confident in the hold so added a butt load of black gaffer tape ontop too - its not going anywhere now.

Well, I've used this a few times now to put my sat nav onto either the top yoke or onto the front of the tank -- and its brilliant !

Not like gaffer tape at all, more like a super strong blu tac. The longer its on, the more 'firm' it seems to be . Three small blobs is enough to hold my old Garmin Quest on the bike. When I take it off, there is no residue.

I know my sat nav is old, but it has a 20 hour battery life ( so no need for hard wiring) .. well, it had when it was new, now seems to be around 8 - 10 hours (I think that I need to 'condition' the battery a bit more : let it run completely out a few times, see if I can recover it a bit more).

If someone can pm me how to post pics, I'll put some up if anyone wants to see ?

Can you just keep reusing that stuff?

yes you can keep using it - peel it off, roll it up, re-use it --- its just like blu tac only stronger :)
available from those camera shops that do extreme sports / head cam equipment an stuff (eg action cameras, but I got mine from Northern Ireland : cant remember the name of the place at the mo)
