This has been unashamedly stolen from SVRider. I thought it was a good idea, so thought it may work for the org.

"Ok so here is the deal. Im trying to start this picture game up for all us riders. the object of the game is try to be the first to post the picture of the challenge. Someone will make a challenge (i.e. your bike in a garage) first to post the picture chooses the next challenge. here are the rules....

1. The person starting the tag must post a pic of their own as the challenge. this cuts down on overly difficult or ridiculous challenges. IE: your bike and snow IN JUNE.

2. File photos allowed for starting a new tag, a new pic must be taken to capture a tag.

3. The freshly taken Photo must include tag object and bike

4. Get rid of the time limit rules. If the tags are any good, there will be no need.

5. No voting. If another participant agrees with the tag, it's good. Move on, it's supposed to be fun and moreover, AN EXCUSE TO RIDE!"

ok i'm a bit slow. so what you are saying is the first person who puts a pic up of their bike with a boat gets to choose the next task. e.g. they then put a pic up with their bike and some other object, then its up to another member to copy that so on and so on?

That was how I read it, but was not too sure. Also I think you cannot use a picture of your bike that you already have, you must go out and get a new one - the point of the game is to go out on your bike.

they do this on thumpertalk and yeah mike as you've descirbed is how they do it. Basically from now on each poster should provide 2 pics, 1 to comply with the previous players tag (this must be a new pic), and a 2nd pic to set thier own tag (this can be from an archive).

Course it was! Scouts honour mister :smt083. It was the reason I needed to go test out my new levers despite the rain. I was that excited as I ran out of the house I forgot my ear plugs (WHAT?!).

I take it though Christian's Bridge photo wasn't taken after the castle one though. I don't know of any forests like that near to Warwick.

FFS Lenny, they can't explain it any simpler :rolleyes:

The person posting the new game / subject / task / tag or whatever can use an archive picture to illustrate what they mean, but people who then want to submit a photo to win this round have to take a new pic from this point.
If you submit the first new pic showing the required subject then to illustrate your chosen new subject you're ( only you) allowed to use an archive pic.

Simples :)

Yay...we have a winner. Just taken over the river "great Ouse" in Norfolk. Made me jump on my bike and ride 1 minute up the road.........then I rode another few to Sandringham forthe next challenge................Your Bike and a Country Estate/Stately Home.....no Volvos or pictures of the lastest Wilcon developement. Sadly the Queen wasn't in, which was a shame because I still haven't got my lawnmower back yet.

Maybe we need a set "form" of how the post will look with the key bits of information in big and bold but so people can still put the comment by their picture of what it is or what the day was like etc.
and possibly a separate chat thread might be a good idea because it will change so often and each topic only gets one reply before it changes its quicker paced than the photo competition we are used to.

Hmm, thinking about it, the layout should have a link at the bottom of the post to link to the chat thread so if people want to comment they follow the link, it might save stickying it.

Putting my camera where my mouth is, here's my picture outside a stately home. This isn't the public entrance I admit but that entrance isn't nearly as photogenic as this one.
