Out of interest, why is a car like this having it gearbox overhauled at such low mileage ? I thought these went on for ever.

It was a common fault with the e46 330d autos, at 60-70k they'd start slipping gears and then loose drive all together resulting in a box rebuild

The wife has got a touring (why not just say "estate") version of that, absolutely loves it- goes like a rocket-no engine noise no fuss.Certainly better than the honda crv we px'ed on it, the economy on a run is amazing. Not that good round town though....around 30 ish. I haven't driven it since putting the sv on the road

P.s. you know you can 'chip' these don't you? To around 250 bhp!!!
