andrewsmith
29-09-11, 08:14 PM
I've got two parked fully laden at work atm.
Lets see if I can beat the skip waggons tomorrow
andrewsmith
30-09-11, 08:18 PM
Didn't beat them today!!!
New tag up anyways

Working on it.
andrewsmith
17-10-11, 07:01 PM
cheat?
punyXpress
17-10-11, 10:13 PM
Well, Yes I did ( a little )
andrewsmith'll recognise the paddock shot, 'twas where the masseuse was doing her thing.
Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge was opened 100 years ago today.
But they closed it because of a little wind.
I do have a substitute if that's a bit tricky.
I've bungee jumped off there. Bit of useless information for you :)
andrewsmith
18-10-11, 06:34 AM
haha
Yes I was thinking it was there!
Right who's going to get the next one?
punyXpress
18-10-11, 09:23 AM
The bloke who knows of a 99 year old bridge?
Does it need to be a centenary or would another significant anniversary be suitable?
MisterTommyH
18-10-11, 09:50 AM
Christ, I was just going to go to a bridge with a peice of cake and a birthday candle.
Most bridges take over a year to build so everyday is the birthday of a little bit of it (!)
punyXpress
18-10-11, 10:12 AM
Reckon you'll get away with something slightly different, Tam, but I think Tommy should splash out on the other 99 candles! ;)
does it have to be the birdge's birthday or would any transporter bridge do?
I initially thought that was newport.
beabert
18-10-11, 04:04 PM
Oh come on, seriously...
andrewsmith
18-10-11, 06:17 PM
Don't blame me!!! :smt040
how does one find the birthday of a bridge though?
beabert
18-10-11, 08:46 PM
Just do a bridge :D
how does one find the birthday of a bridge though?
Google the bridges that are near to you and find out what year they were completed.
If it's a notable anniversary that should be a winner I would think.
Kincardine Bridge is 75 this year
Runcorn Bridge is 50
Gateshead Millenium Bridge is 10
Humber Bridge is 30
If you want to get creative, The English Bridge Union is 75. See if they'll deal you into a rubber. :)
beabert
13-11-11, 05:54 PM
Right, had enough of waiting again, so i went out to a bridge today. There was a pub right next to it, lots of people drinking and having a good time, that is close enough for me.
You lot are making this game boring. :D
Next one is a viaduct. Or anything on this list is acceptable. Ive done all the hard work finding a list, so chop chop.

whehey well done shawthing. Nice to see some one else is still playing. Im going to a canal marina tonight as it happens lol.
Shawthing
19-11-11, 02:23 PM
Yep. Was goin through Stockport when i thought of your post. Slight detour, pick my spot ( pics always look nicer with a bit of sun on the subject) and the thread moves on.
Canal Marina is hopefully not going to be too dificult for peeps.
My money is on a Brummy for next post ( More canals than Venice don't you know).

19-11-11, 07:16 PM
Yep im right below bham loads. Someones already got it! We are on a roll
MisterTommyH
19-11-11, 07:25 PM
Yeah, sorry about that. Was on my way down to Worcester tonight. Thought I'd take a detour via merry hill before you got it.
Merry hill sort of counts as Birmingham if your not local.
andrewsmith
19-11-11, 07:30 PM
Nice one Tommy
I'll wait until 2012 before I post again as I seem to have the touch of Godwins with the thread

Must be a record.
Challenge set at quarter to Two. I-phone picture taken at quarter past Four and posted by half Five.
Merry Hill is really the Black Country,
'Ayup Awer Kid, Awer yaw doo-win',
but i'm happy enough with the prediction and outcome.

How can you tell the time the photo was taken?
christopher
20-11-11, 04:50 PM
From the EXIF data stored in the image. Also says that you took it on an iPhone 3GS at this location (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=52.486500,-2.115833).
There are online tools to display the information if you're curious, like this one (http://regex.info/exif.cgi?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fi815.photobucket.com% 2Falbums%2Fzz78%2FThomas_Nathaniel_Hender%2Fphoto-4.jpg).
EXIF data can be edited/removed. And some services such as Facebook will strip it all out when you upload a photo (this can be good and bad, example of good is that it removes possible sensitive data such as stored location from cameras with GPS).
MisterTommyH
20-11-11, 05:06 PM
Cheers,
I knew that the data was in the photograph but couldn't figure out how Shawthing had got at it from the posted image.
Very useful tool for checking people haven't cheated!
beabert
20-11-11, 05:22 PM
Not fool proof if the time isnt set correctly on the device lol. In windows 7 pictures properties, theres an option to make a copy with the meta data left out.

I thought someone would have gotten this one on their way to work.
Any rail station would be fine. Open , closed, abandonded....
Um, that's just a football stadium (according to a quick Google on my phone.) My tag was 'athletics stadium'...

New challenge in the Motorcycle Picture game thread, since Bill Banannaman posted last time. Was about as mild a day as we're likely to get in January down here, so I had a little 50 mile trundle around and picked up a couple of photos. Over to you...
MisterTommyH
02-01-12, 05:21 PM
Might just have to wheel the bike round to the front of the house to get that one.....although really should put a little more effort in....

Does it have to be exact? I know of a sign with Hendwr on it, although that's near Betws-y-coed. Definatly not a mid week trip?
I don't know if anyone actually knows my surname so I could cheat. I wouldn't dream of it though.
FYI, my full name is Tam CarPark ;).

Hmm id say so, but if it means your going for a decent ride then well thats the purpose of the game, so ill let you have it

N'ah. It's much too far for after work and Saturday the bikes being serviced.
Now to look for a Tom/Tommy/Thomas....
Edit: Surname is Hender - Any shop signs there would be tend to be for Hendersons.

Old school mini cooper? Dammit my mum sold hers a bit ago :(
Time to keep the eyes peeled
.......does it have to be a cooper?
joshwalker094
26-02-12, 09:25 PM
well id say so, just as long as its an older model
Luckypants
27-02-12, 10:52 AM
Old school minis are hard enough to find, let alone a Cooper.... can we not just say next to an original Mini?

I smell a lunchtime jaunt on the cards :)
joshwalker094
27-02-12, 12:45 PM
Damn it hol, you always seem to beat me straight away :( let's see how long I can keep the title for
I haven't got it yet! I'm just going somewhere on the off chance. It makes it more fun if it changes more anyway ;)
You wait all day to see a mini then all of a sudden....
http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i408/mrhol101/loadsaminis.jpg
I didn't realise how many different ones they made - this was a new one on me
http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i408/mrhol101/minicoupe.jpg
But to cut to the chase.... i need an umpires decision on this one.... see that red thing buried behind the silver one? acceptable or not?
http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i408/mrhol101/oldschoolmini.jpg
Luckypants
27-02-12, 02:33 PM
Really good effort that! However, as the tag is for your bike NEXT to an old skool mini..... I think not. Should have ridden through the showroom :D
That sporty looking one is actually kinda cool.
I checked the wording when I got back, thats why I thought i'd be a little cheaty just to post it.
I had a feeling they'd have one there but it was VERY buried! Funnily enough there wasn't anyone in the showroom so maybe I could have got away with it.
Good excuse for a run out at lunchtime anyway (even if it was raining) :)
That sporty looking one is actually kinda cool.
They had convertables of the same type too. Not bad if you're into that sort of thing.
I don't like how they're slowly making them bigger though
"MINI - from iconic to ironic"
What a good day, got my scottoiler working again & on the test ride found a mini :)
DarrenSV650S
29-02-12, 05:46 PM
hahaha that bus stop one is quality :D
I might get that on Friday if nobody has it by then

It drives like a piece of ****!
That sporty looking one is actually kinda cool.
£24 grand for a pre registered mini, are they having a laugh? Just looked on Autotrader and you can get a 61 plate Evo 10 with 500 miles for the same price.
Yeah but does it have stripes on the bonnet?
joshwalker094
29-02-12, 07:14 PM
i'll let you have it HoL, you did good sir
DarrenSV650S
01-03-12, 04:30 PM
YESSSS!+""£!!!!!!! finally got one in time lol
Wow, that was quick work! nice new tag - all of 10 meters down the road from the last one LOL
Luckypants
01-03-12, 04:37 PM
Yeah, mine lasted at least three hours! LOL I was hoping it would mean you boys going out into the countryside to get the tag this weekend...
DarrenSV650S
01-03-12, 04:43 PM
I couldn't go too far because I've still got the split link on my chain and I knew someone would get that tag easy. If we get a new one up this weekend I'll put more effort in :D
I just really wanted to get one. Sat at the train crossing for 15 mins and it didn't move, no trains. So went to go to the other Barry Budden entrance but there was a very suspicious looking guard on the gate so u-turned and looked about the country roads for a grid but there was none anywhere! So eventually went back and sat there for 20 mins. It's such a crap crossing
Hmmmm stopping outside a military base, taking a photo then speeding off on a motorbike. If anyone sees that they're gonna think you're a terrorist! ;)
DarrenSV650S
01-03-12, 04:47 PM
Yeh because the guard at the other entrance probably took my regi lol
Wouldn't be the first time I've had the police round for riding "suspiciously"
joshwalker094
01-03-12, 04:51 PM
Beaten to both of the tags ( bus stop and cattle grid) damn it you guys, as soon I went out got a bus picture, then email saying lp got it, then spent rest of afternoon looking for a cattle grid to find out Darren got it:/ I live nowhere near a military base, I'd have to go Wales to nearest one, but I'm working all weekend :/
I need another umpires decision, RAF Sealand is now apparently called MOD Sealand or something & I chickened out of trying to get a photo by the main sign because of the 3 security guards & dog. I was hoping you'd be able to make out the sign that says RAF Police or RAF Sealand on the window which you can't really so what do we say chaps? Was it worth my 20min ride home taking an hour & a half instead?
http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i408/mrhol101/04c1c24b.jpg
DarrenSV650S
01-03-12, 10:43 PM
That's just a gate lol. Depends though.... what would the next tag be? ;)
Yeah, the gate of a military base so therefore it's
Your bike next to a military base
I can't tell you what the next one will be!
MisterTommyH
01-03-12, 11:11 PM
I have done a course a Sealand. Called in at that gate house. And confirm it is (was) an RAF base.
I say it counts.
Thanks Tommy H, you're a gent :) next!
Wow HoL, talk about just being plain dangerous now. You terrible person.
Wow HoL, talk about just being plain dangerous now. You terrible person.
Next ones gonna be mid air during an Evil Kinevil style jump over a canyon
Have the tags ever changed this quickly before? I'm starting to regret putting it in my signature.
Can't wait for the next one
- your bike on a pier
- your bike in the sea ;)
EDIT: Just realised how appropriate my avatar would be if that happened
