********* NOW SOLD *********

A nice black, year 2000 SV650SY that I've owned for 7 years. Very good condition for its age as any org'ans who have seen it will no doubt testify.

12 months MOT. Taxed until end of September.

New Avon Storms front and rear with less than 1,000 miles on them. New chain and sprockets just fitted.

Mileage is 14,500. The bike was originally a French import and had Euro headlights and kph clocks. I changed them last year for the UK spec items from my project bike so it's now UK legal but the new clocks are showing 27,000 miles. I've got the old MOT's for both bikes to back up the mileage but TBH you can pretty much tell by looking at it.

It had a new battery 2 years ago (due to lack of use at the time) and I changed the Reg/Rec (for another SV one ) in April this year.

MODIFICATIONS

Forks upgraded with Hagon progressive springs and oil.
Blue Flame carbon twin port exhaust can (the original is available if you want it but the Blue Flame can is road legal).
Chewy's mirror extenders.
Mini indicators.
DIY "Zunkus template" tail tidy (with reflector and number plate light to keep things legal).
Rear Hugger.

I gave the bike a good service in March this year that included;

Valve clearance check (all within spec)
Oil and Coolant change
New oil and air filters
New plugs
Wheel bearings checked
Head bearings checked and greased
Front & rear calipers stripped, cleaned and rebuilt
New fork springs and oil
Carbs synchronised
General clean, nut & bolt check.

Following that service I took the bike down to Ed's rideout in Shropshire in April and it didn't skip a beat.

It's never been dropped by me but has gone down light on the left side at some point. The tip of the gear lever is bent up slightly (doesn't affect operation) and there has been a repair made to the fairing above the left indicator - not noticeable unless you're looking for it. The mirrors have a few scuffs - worse on the left side.

I've just had it out for a blast and it's running great. Progresses in a sprightly fashion with nice, smooth gear changes.

£1,300 and it's yours. If you want more info or pics just ask.

EDIT: The pics were taken in a car park while out for a run. The patches of oil on the ground don't belong to me!

Free bump - having seen this bike in the flesh, it's very tidy indeed - whoever buys it won't be disappointed, I promise you.

BUMP.

As I've been asked by PM, I'll clarify that the fact the bike is a French import doesn't have any negative consequences for insurance. It's a parallel import (as many bikes of that era were), not a grey import.

The bike was first registered in the UK in 2000 and is the SY model for that year. It was never registered in France.

As stated, the clocks and lights have been changed so the only way you would know it wasn't originally built for the British market would be if you checked the VIN with Suzuki.

The bike sailed through its MOT on Saturday.

To make it 100% I've ordered a new Chain & Sprocket kit which will be fitted by the end of the week. (original post edited to note this)

If there's no takers from the org by then I'll stick a classified ad on ebay.

This will be going on fleabay with some of the "extras" removed - namely the hugger, can and mirror extenders.

The ebay price will be £1,200. Original asking price gets the can and mirror extenders included. I'm open to sensible offers.

I've actually put the hugger on my other bike now but I've got a new Pyramid hugger here that can go on this bike if the full original asking price is paid.

I'm just South West of Glasgow. Easy to reach by road/train/plane (Glasgow or Glasgow Prestwick Airports with Flybe/EasyJet/Ryanair). Bike couriers will also deliver the bike anywhere in the UK for a reasonable fee.

If you are further afield I can send more/detailed pics. Any inspection welcome.

Well lads, just wanted to post up to give some  to TamSV.
Airport collection and the bike is better than the pictures.
200 miles under the belt today, bike didn't miss a beat.
The trip was nearly worth it for the look at that Cafe Racer alone. Stunning.
