Tyre mate, it's a piece of wee as long as you have itinerary planning on your Tomtom.

Taken off Apples site.
Can I really run Windows applications on my Mac?
Yes, you can. Since Apple’s transition to Intel processors in 2006, Windows applications run beautifully on the Mac—faster than they do on many PCs, in fact. To run Windows applications, you’ll need additional software and a Mac with an Intel processor running Mac OS X v10.4.6 or higher. Every currently shipping Mac qualifies, but older Macs may not. Please check your system profile in About This Mac to ensure What you need to run Windows.
To run Windows applications, do I have to run the Windows operating system?
Yes, you do. Basically, there are two ways to run Windows on your Mac:
Boot into Windows at startup. This dedicates 100% of the processor power to Windows and Windows applications. You can’t use Mac OS X again until you restart.
Use virtualization software, which lets you run Mac OS X and Windows side by side. You can switch between them as easily as you’d switch between Mac applications.
But you can’t run Windows without Windows—you’ll need to acquire your own copy of either Windows XP or Windows Vista to use either solution.

Hmmm, ok that seems to be alot of effort and expense given i need a copy of XP etc.
Does anyone know of any good sites/places I can convert my google map route into an itinerary file?
Or Phil, could I send you my route, for you to convert to Itinterary file and then send back? (just for this one time obv)

This is what my mates just told me...
Easy peasy, install Parrallels software then install windows.
Dan, I can do the conversion for you no probs.

Ok, well currently, I have an itn file (which i believe to be what i need) However, i cannot figure out how to get it onto my tomtom. I pressumed it would be a drag and drop into the itn folder.......but i cannot find the itn folder. lol (and yes it has the intinerary function lol)

Tyre does send them to the right folder automatically, but I'm sure there is a itn folder on mine .

can't you just do this: Tom Tom & Google maps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUk3pICUcPk)

That's something I didnt know, but tyre allows you to choose the exact road and route YOU wanna take not the way Tomtom wants to send you, hence the .itn files that you can create directly for Tomtom so it's like advanced itinerary planning.

Looked at that. There is no option for send to GPS....only email.
I dont understand how I cannot find the itn folder! lol

but then you just drag the route cursor to you're desired route on the google map

it does on mine, type in your starting postcode and then your destination postcode, change the route by dragging the route cursor and then click the send button
edit: sorry, just noticed the note at the bottom of the page: "only destination address will get sent".........humph!

Nope that's the muppet programming it, if you do routes on google maps correctly, it's only doing the route you told it to so can't blame TT.
IMO tom-toms are far more reliable in terms of programming, ease of use etc.

Well ok, I'll re-phrase. They can be ok....but they will never let you take the route you want to program in without spending about 2 hrs setting all the fecking waypoints/turnings etc.
Unless you use google maps....and magically get it work with that
Heres an idea. Buy a bloody map!
Crikey, by the time you lot have sussed this out, im half way there.

That it may be....but my memory is not what it used to be. No chance of me remembering a 150 mile route to the AR
The yoof of today. Use a post it note taped to the tank. Crikey! Its not rocket science  It woul dhave been darn site easier than all this faffing around.
As you may of gussed, im not a fan of SatNag

Yeh, but that brings in another issue......reading! The so called "Yoof of today" cannot read good :cyclopsani:
Whilst I agree, I am not an outright fan of satnags, I despise people who drive by what their satnag tells them, not by what they see. I do think that they can be useful in getting to places you have never been before.

And they are safer IMO, rather than faff around trying to read instructions, the satnav can have a quick glance, it gives you a heads up what type of turn, junction or road to look for.
I use mine a lot for my work as well to get to jobs and it's massively quicker to find an address than me using an A2Z.
Long live satnav :)
