Howdoo. I've been lurking on here for a couple of months after deciding that I wanted an SV650 as my first bike. Picked her up last Friday, and all I can say is, I've made the right decision. She's a K4 with a smidge under 9k on the clock, apart from needing a service and tax, she's good to go.

After reading all the FAQ's, I don't think I have any stoopid newb questions, apart from is it worth buying a toolkit for the bike as it was missing when I checked in the stowage?

Only the spark plug spanner really, everything else is easily sourced elsewhere and of better quality :-D

Updated my location Shellywoozle, I'm in Stamford :)

I already have a pretty good toolkit maviczap, so I'll take your advice. The only thing I don't have is a tool to adjust the rear shock, any ideas where I could get one?

Std c spanners are about £6 each to answer your q

Thanks mate, I wasn't sure if it was a particular sized spanner or a universal size.

I'd like to come along to a meet to say hello, although I think I'll be holding you all up on the ride :)

Wobbly has been my forum name for years on other sites, although it does have a co-incidental second meaning now I have a bike.

Hello to everyone :smt039

How doo :)

The spending has begun, already bought a tank protector, mirror extenders and some Scottoiler oil. On the look out for a really good ground anchor for my garage so I can chain the bike down.

You wont hold me up, I seem to be getting slower, maybe its cos im 40 now...

No-one expects you to ride beyond your experience and ability and if they do then drop out cos its not worth it!!

I dropped out of the last rideout cos I'd done loads of miles the previous day and just couldnt seem to get into it. Better that than risk something going wrong. But dont worry, the EAR are a great bunch and I dont think you'll have any probs enjoying yourself :p
