Hi all, following the AR I have had a few problems with the bike, not least that luckypants decided to comment on how well it had done... Anyway after hijacking the KTM 125 thread and being told off I figured I would start my own thread. So, having decided that I really need to get a bigger bike, after all, its rude when people are trying to overtake you on every hill, I decided to pop round to the garage of doom (YC's) and try an SV for size, yes yes I know I am still on L plates and need to sort a test, but thats not going to stop me. So I can spluttering up the hill towards the garage of doom and finally the bike gave up the ghost. Lucky for me just after missing the house.... So a quick coast back down the hill and I arrive swearing at the bike (sorry YC).

Now this was supposed to be a quick visit as YC was heading out to fix a computer, doh! So we checked the plug, checked the carb, (ish) and decided on valves. Cue a question of what do I know about computers. A little later, one compute r fixed and me having experienced being pillion with YC. We got back to looking at the bike. Valves turned out to be fine... Hmmm next? Carbs, this time have a proper look, these also were fine. Turns out it was the fuel valve on the tank, meaning I was getting way too much petrol into the engine all the time. Cue a large bodging operation. One bolt, one syringe, bodged with o rings and of course a cable tie.

I set of home. We it lasted a little while... To the top of the hill, cue more bodging and I end up with a bike that can be pinned at full throttle or dies. An interesting ride home :D I finally got home at just after midnight to a few missed calls all worrying if I was ok. The following morning a quick call to kymco and they agree to fix it under warranty, the parts will take 2 days to arrive, that's just not quick enough, I want to get back on my new toy. Suddenly I remember people have mentioned that my Kymco is a copy of a Honda. Off to the Honda dealer, purchase the relevant part, now we just hope it fits. Back home, I empty the tank of petrol (two jam jars full) and get to work, ten minutes later I have a working bike, now with a reserve tap. :D

YAY my toy lives again.
