Sorry about the choice of category for this.

I am selling my HTC Desire HD smartphone and I'd rather sell it to people that I am more familiar with at a lower price than to a stranger on eBay!

Anyway

8GB MicroSD Card
A bit scuffed on the corners of the case
No deep scratches on the screen
8.0 Megapixel Camera

Charger & cables.

I might still have the box, I will have to have a dig about.

£175 - Cheaper than eBay!

I will wait a couple of days to see if any one wants it here and then I will stick it on eBay.

Thanks!

What is CyanogenMod?
CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors of these cell phones.

It's also super awesome, offers loads of configuration options that you don't get with stock ROMS. The battery life is loads better, all the useless apps that come bundled with the phone are removed and there is less of a load on the processor so the phone runs much faster.

I'm a bit nervous about fecking around with my new Galaxy S2. Are these mods reversable? Will I loose the original OS?

What realistic benefit do I get from changing the OS? Given that my phone is really, really rapid already at internet and all sorts of games, will I see an improvement? It rules the roost when it comes to 3D graphics and Angry birds etc.

Come on, make me want to change!

Pete ;)

I am running Lightning ROM 6.1 with speedmod kernel on my SGS2.

Much improved battery life and generally more flexibility with the phone. Flashing it is simple on the Samsung, just a piece of software and a USB cable required.

It's pretty simple and the process you use to change the ROM o something else is exactly the same to change it back to stock.

If you google XDA Developers and your phone make and model you will find walkthroughs on there and comparisons of different ROMS.

TBH Pete, if it does what you want then theres no real need to change - if it aint broke etc.

I ran modded firmware on my Hero as it was the only way to get the latest Android Versions.

The interesting thing is that my Xperia Play which is not operator locked actually is set up by Sony to be flashable (there is no protection on the bootloader - the thing that tells it where to get its start up orders) so its even easier to flash a new ROM. Many other manufacturers are doing likewise.

As for going back - as long as there is a Stock ROM available - well you just flash it back to how it was.

Thats exactly how the Samsung is. Just use an application called Odin to do all your flashing stuff and jobs a good'un. Samsung provide all their own ROMs and also provide Kernel code to developers to modify as they please.
