what a feckin joke...
you walk into a dealer to look at one of their cars to be told that they don't have any. so you cant sit in it or try the boot for size etc.etc.
me, ok how long does it take to get one.
him, 8-16 weeks sir.
me, why so long.
him, they come from the far east sir.
me, ermmm your bumf says they are made in europe.
him, silence.. well ermm you may be right.
so i phone up kia uk and ask if any of their dealerships local to me have any in stock. sorry sir we haven't a clue as we only supply the cars we have nothing to do with the dealers as they are all independent you would have to phone around yourself to find out.
shame to as i liked the look of the cee'd estate.
what a feckin joke...
What do you expect?

Used to have to wait 6 months for your car until Datsun came along and upset everything

Mates missus has a mobility allowance and they walked out of the showroom due to the badly informed sales staff. I would have thought that a big market for Kia

I have a cee'd estate. Good car - but I'm a bit far away for you to come and sit in it!

With Q on this, but no cars what a load of ****e
Where's your cash going to go?
The Cee'd looks like a nice car. Definitely would consider putting my own money into one if I was in the market for a new car. Obviously don't know the finer details but their 7 year/100,000 mile warranty seems amazing and a really good selling point for keeping any costs to a minimum in the future.
My local Kia dealer has a few cars. I can go and sit in the C apostrphy d and describe it to you if you'd like?
update so far
vaxhall, completely out as all the ones i looked at the pillar obscures the access to the passenger seat.
ford, grand c-max is ticking all the right boxes. cracking car, big and roomy with lots of toys and a small deposit.
fiat, punto is out as the boot is too small and the brava is to much deposit.
hyundai, i'30 is rather nice but basic, big enough boot and i can get a 1.6d auto for nowt.
citroen, C4 i can get the vrx or something like that for nowt but its to sporty.
still to look at renault, VW and skoda
the car i get has to have a big enough boot for a wheel chair, good access to the passenger seat and 5 doors.
any recommendations as i'm going dizzy looking at the things?

Had a ride in a C apostrophe D when my local stealer (Skoda and Kia and more) screwed up my service and left me carless. Was very, very impressed with everything about the car, it's a shame you haven't had a chance to see one, but I suppose if the sales side is bad you'd be worried the service side would be too.
Definitely check out the Skoda stuff, they're popular for a reason. Check out the Roomster considering your needs.
I think Hyundai and Kia are the same company - therefore they share chassis and things, quite often just a bit of styling that's different.
Can't comment on the dealers sales ability but I bought a Kia Sportage 2nd hand at 37k miles and it hasn't had a single problem. Now on 92k. I'd buy another. Dealer servicing not too expensive either.

So, you're locking yourself into main stealer servicing for SEVEN YEARS! Can't see that keeping costs down myself.
'Obviously don't know the finer details' & 'seems'
Clearly it is dependant on their prices and the terms and conditions. Although someone mentioned already they're reasonable prices so perhaps isn't much of an issue? I don't really know but I was just saying it seems decent at first glance :)

I think that under current law this is NOT vendor lock-in.
I think you can go anywhere and get the servicing done and not invalidate the Warranty
another little update. its a mobility car that i have been looking to get and have been told porky pies by all the dealers. i have enquired at every single dealer and asked about HP threw mobility and every single one of them says that they have stopped it. i phone mobility to see if they can help with a large deposit on a new lease car and they said yes, while i was on the phone i asked about HP and was told yes we still do it. there are certain criteria to be met, like the car i'm buying has to be under 3 years old and less the 44,000 miles but they will give me finance of up to 11,000 over 5 years. only reason i asked was that i will be loosing all my no claims (14 years) if i go down the lease route.
i hate buying cars, why do sales people feel the need to lie...
Just to try and get more money in their pockets. Especially lying about motability... makes me genuine angry as they could be limiting people's options on which they depend.

You know that, I know that, but an awful lot of the peeps who buy cars ( & bikes ) with headline ' deals ' don't.

I got a brand new Fabia 1.6tdi (105bhp) SE (aircon, alloys, electrics etc) for £12,200, it would of been £500 cheaper but I managed to get around the 6 month waiting list by getting a canceled order with the 500 quid metallic paint option.
Bearing in mind a kia c'ed with a basic 1.4 petrol engine and lower spec is £13,000, actually at the time my Fabia cost less than a 1.2l Corsa - no brainer
Although the Fabia shares a polo chassis its got plenty of room, not much smaller than a mk4 golf although I'm not sure how much room a wheelchair would take

There are 3 Citroens which would be good choices for mobility cars...
Berlingo, C3 Picasso and C4 Picasso and all got big boots and doors.

New Skoda Yeti or the Nissan Cube?
Don't know if they fit the requirements? Similar to the Belingo in shape and size?

New Skoda Yeti
I want one of those, been for a peep in one at the dealers. The boot size is awesome, and its really economical on fuel. Its almost Freelander in size, just with shorter legs, and a bit shrunk in places.
They're getting as common as muck round here....bit like Landies..which says something, because you really do need something that'll get you out of the **** in winter.
......especially when yours is the only car to actually to make it to the end of the street and pull others!
best car that fits the need was a ford grand c-max. it will arrive about 10th september.
i will never ever give a single penny to charity again in my life, in fact if anyone comes near me with a rattle can or even mentions it in my company i'm going to rip their feckin head off. i feel sorry for all these people who are under the impression that these places give to people who really need it and as such give freely to charity, its a disgrace.
