Mid Week Jaunt.

Tomorrow 3 of us leave from Ayrshire to Portree, via Applecross accessed by the famous Bealach na Ba.

Outbound route via A82 as far as Invergarry, west on A87 towards Skye and said Bealach na Ba peninsula pass to Applecross and back upon ourselves to cross the Skye bridge finishing up at The Isles Inn, Portree, for shandies.

Homeward Route on Wednesday will take in Argyll via Oban, Lochgilphead, Inverary and dunoon ferry to Gourock and back to Ayrshire.

Should be close to 600 miles all in.

Well excited, like a kid at Christmas I don't see me sleeping tonight. :o

Argyll via Oban and lochgilphead etc has been mostly resurfaced, it's beautiful.

Arrived back today at 4pm after covering 569 miles in the two days. Made Applecross and got back to the Isle of Skye for a few pints.

Got totally drenched within first hour from home to Glasgow then it dried up for most of the journey with the odd bit of rain here and there.

Trip was nearly ended 220miles in on 1st day from an oil leak on my bike. The allen key bolt on the front cylinder head gasket was ****ing oil all over the bike and my legs, managed to somehow work loose and has threaded the alloy side of head. I suspect overtightened at some stage by previous owner. Got it patched with thread lock and instant gasket at a wee garage in Loch Carron and it proceeded to do 350 miles on the repair with a top up of 500ml 10w/40 car oil.

Did you loop round to Sheildaig and round? More fantastic views and entertaining single trackers. One for the next time if not.
