Hello guys and galls,
I'm only going to be able to come out to play on the 25th Sept and haven't really given much thought to a route. I've quickly drawn up this as a wee run.

Let me know what you think and if you'll be able to come out and play on the 25th. Or if you've got a nice route you'd like to get us doing. Post it and it can be reviewed by the Ecosse crowd.

Na, I try my best to avoid motorways and my god motorways full of bikers I can't think of anything worse.
No can do i hope to be in Ireland!!
slight heads up. i was on the dukes pass on sunday with muzikill and it was littred with coaches and numpty 4x4 drivers added to that was the usual george and mildred types all doing no more than 20mph. so best avoid i think.

You've had your amendment sonny boy your pushing your luck now :)
I can't believe your asking me to NOT go on the dukes pass. its a double dunt. I hate the A81 from Callander to the Rob Roy Roundabout (if they resurfaced it then YES) and the Dukes is my kinda heaven even when there's traffic on it...
Don't worry its the September weekend it'll be dead
it was bad m8. if i were crap at overtaking i would have been stuck behind traffic at the start till the finish but as it was i had to use every opportunity just to get a decent run at it.
i haven't been up that way for a long time and i really don't know why people go on about the road surface. it wasn't that bad. i have been on a lot worse lately.
there was also some kind of rally with little 2 seater old sports cars and flat cap drivers.
I'm a not coming out to play if you're going over the Dukes :smt022.
that's made it final then.. lets do the dukes :-)

Might join you somewhere around Perth if nothing else gets in the way and it's not snowing up here, then head back after Callander/Dukes.
See what happens.

You could pop round the A81 and get us in aberfoyle if you want it probably takes about the same time and others may want to go with you... Come out to play you know you wanna!!!
Hmmm, I'll think about it.

Any idea of estimated start and finish times? I've got something on early evening that I can't miss but quite fancy a run - I'd probably need to be back in Falkirk by say 5-ish.

I hadn't noticed my lack of start time.
Is a 10 o'clock start good for everyone?
Can't do run, but could meet you all at Carbeth for a cuppa and gab?!
i have just had another look at the route and decided i'm coming. that is unless my M'I'L has other plans.
dunning glen, butterstone, tummel and the dukes all in one day :-) i think i might just jizz my pants.
can i make onother sugestion and that is if we could make the start point mcdonalds in alloa as its right next to morrisons for folk to fuel up before the run.

Did Duke's Pass today and it was fairly quiet. Only had one car to deal with on the pass itself, and aside from a bit of gravel on a couple of corners and one huge pothole just outside Aberfoyle (heading north) it was in good condition.
Should be able to make this.
Did something similar recently, but carried on north from Ballater to Grantown-on-Spey. Crazy fun roads!
I should be able to manage this.

if its not peeing down with rain i may join in now that i've managed to Tax and MOT the bike!
Where are we meeting? Alloa or Grangemouth?
Looks like the service area/carvery place at the Grangemouth side of the Kincardine Bridge.
I'm probably not going to make this now, due to a lovely screw through the rear tyre in the Peaks.

Hopefully up for this pending a green card from the other half, but it's looking hopeful. That said, if it's ****ing it down I may shandy out like a wuss - I get enough wet riding during the daily commute!
I might shortcut the last bit of the route and go back Callander - Dunblane direction and zip back up the M9 - dull but practical... but if time is on our side the word Inn may triumph over practicality:drink:.
Oh, and just to confirm, is the new/old/final start point the (BP?) petrol station just off the 876 heading towards Kincardine bridge?
looks like rain but i'm still going. don't know about 10am start though :(

would have turned up but bike wouldn't start :(
need to get a new battery me thinks.
Lance, Ramjam and I somehow got split up from the rest just after Forest Mill. Spent about 30 minutes looking for everybody, gave up, so Ramjam and I headed up North. Ramjam turned back around Aberfeldy due to his new leathers giving him trouble.
I got to Pitlochrie at about 13:00, waited about for 10mins, then figured I could make it home in time for the F1, so raced down the A9.

25-09-11, 02:09 PM
Nice meeting you Mark. Just wasn't myself out there. I know leathers are meant to be tight but the pants were painfully tight. To the point where i couldn't feel my feet and was going numb and was losing sensation. I couldn't get comfortable and when the twisties came I wasn't able to switch positions quick enough on the bike. Phoned HG when I got home so will return them for the next size up. Unfortunately they have to order them drom Dainese so it will be about 4 - 6 weeks before I get them. Hopefully though these ones will fit better!
As for the rest of the party. What happened to you all?

Looked a good run, some good pics Pete! Even though we somehow got separated from the group I doubt I would have made it. Had to bail around Aberfeldy as I really couldn't feel my legs i them leathers!
Anyway I returned them to HG for a replacement in a bigger size but will be a few weeks before I get them as they have to order them in :-(

Um heap big paleface speaks the partial truth. I too saw no clouds. But only because the rain was so hard I couldn't see a fecking thing!
Delighted to find that my gloves have now (re)developed 'the smell from hell' that cannot be banished - top tips anyone?
Despite the soggy finale, it was a great ride. Nice to meet some of you chaps for the first time, and some of you again - hopefully see you again some time soon.
Had a great day too.
I was told to have a look at Dean taking some bends etc but just felt that I'd have to put myself in wayyyyy too much danger travelling at such speeds so alas I saw nothing so I'll just take everybody's word for it.
