Grrr, Wifey borrowed Marilyn this morning for a quick run out because her Monster (a 2002 600 Dark) was in the dealer having heated grips fitted. She came back calling it Daisy because she said the high pegs made her sit with her @rse stuck out like a duck!! My only comeback was that she was too used to a bike with bars so wide and pegs so low it feels like you should be wearing cowboy boots and a stetson!

Anyone get abuse from the other half?

Yeaah, my little git of a cousin rang me up earlier and his first question was "is your bike still ugly?". I was fuming. Especially as he said the same, amongst other things, last month when he came down to visit.

quite the reverse actually, normally I'll get a nice bike mate from some when on the S4, but yesterday I was being followed by a 2010 fireblade (in the red/white & blue), he pulled up along side at the lights, lifted his visor and just said "f***ing awesome sound", but then I was on the superduke, so would have to agree......:)

The other half is a dedicated Kawasaki owner, having owned an Original Z1, Zephyrs, a Z-thou and several GTR's. Most recently she bought a ZRX1100 which in all fairness is a lovely bike.

When I asked her what she thought of my lovely (Pre-crunched) Sylvie, she hesitated and then actually said "your SV is a really impressive bike for its size!"

High praise indeed from the wifey. It is a girly bike though! :smt045

She's curvy, sounds great and has the occasional strop - what else could I call her?!

Hmm, guilty as charged!!

Can tell who wears the trousers http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=170638 (pardon the pun), seeing as she insulted your bike just yesterday and now you're doing her a favour? Who is left to fight Marilyn's court, eh? :D

It doesn't bother me if people do call my bike ugly, they're dead right, it's absolutely bloody minging.

There's a reason I bought an ugly bike - when I stand next to it, I'm the good looking one :-)

It's like how pretty girls who lack self confidence always have a slightly less attractive girl for a best mate; I always used to ask the mate out instead ;-)

Also, in the same way that you don't look at the mantlepiece when you're poking the fire, I don't see how minging my bike is when I'm riding it, but like a proper fat burd it's built for comfort not speed and can give hours of fun and enjoyment that you'd never have thought possible.
