My missus bought me a set of Tank Tredz for my birthday as I kept complaining of slipping forward on my bike during braking. We applied them the day before doing my first track day (another pressie from her) and despite all the emergency stopping approaching the corners, I stayed firm on my seat.

They're a little pricey I guess at $43 but they're as flat as a pancake so you don't feel them through your leathers like some alternatives.

Application was a little trickey, they're so grippy I almost gave myself blisters on my thumbs pushing out any possible air bubbles.

On the missus bike however it didn't take too kindly to a change in contour albeit we were using and cutting to size a generic pad as there wasn't a specific one for our bikes. Mine took to the SV fine though.

Someone on here told me (I think it was Berlin) that those little rubber bump stops you get on cupboard doors work really well and cost about 20p for an A4 sheet full.
I already had a set of stomps so I've not tried it but could be a good cheap solution for someone...

I think it would look awful aesthetics wise however that's a fantastic cheap alternative!!

How have people got on with all forms of tank grips, with regards to wear on their leathers/textiles?

Was thinking of it for a track bike really so aesthetics are secondary to price!

Love the stomps, but only have them on the track bike. Never had any issues with them tearing leathers or anything.

I can now report that after 9 months and 6k miles, the tank tredz are in need of replacing really. The bobbles have worked off on 50% and one patch is through and back to the metal work. Luckily I cut mine in half before applying, so I have another set for application.

I have snakeskinz on my bike and two years on and ten thousand miles they're fine. No leather damage either.

None what-so-ever however as mentioned, most of the wear appears to be appearing on the tank tredz material so it's a bit of a weigh up.
