I love that word.

Bimble.

It suggests a simple, gentle ride, no effort, no stress.

It's been a sunny day, the lanes were empty and dry (ish)

So off I went, up via Salmesbury to Longridge, then to Slaidburn and Grandpa's bench.

Many of you know it, some have ridden past it, some have crashed near it!

It's a crackin' view towards Ingleton and beyond. I had a quiet half hour chatting with no-one real, putting myself back on track...

Then I meandered off towards Settle and Malham Cove.

Damn that's a good looking bike!

After leaving Malham, I aimed for Settle again via a different route. This is now my favourite road. The views back to the cove and Gordale Scar fill your mirrors and distract from the view ahead. That view itself is expansive and beautiful with escarpments marching across the world in front of you.

After Settle, the roads might have well be closed. There was no traffic, so the ride to Gisburn and then down to Barrowford was... special.

Not up there with Hawk jets over Mount Nebo, but close.

A good day.

I hope you all had a good day aswell.

Pete ;)

Oh it's like that is it, I was not aware today was a practice session for the topbox racers! [-(

Funnily enough I wanted to get out this afternoon and enjoy the sun, wanted to go Slaidburn/Trough of Bowland way but got out of the office too late :( had to make do with a few laps of Belmont instead :D

Funny, I was thinking about you Pete on our bimble today ;)

Met up with Minimorecambe at Devil's Bridge > Sedburgh > Hawes > Ribblehead > Settle > Clapham > Melling then up to the Lakes and Kirkstone Pass. Then I had a giant blonde moment after we'd parted and got my Ulverston mixed up with Ullswater and ended up in Barrow-in-Furness PMSL. I ended up doing 280 miles in all, set off about 8.15am and got home about 7. Got to make the most of the nice weather!

Maria has heard Ulverston mentioned a lot without knowing. Dave the SV was taken up there, when I sold it.

Sorry for the subliminal blonde messages Maria!

Well d'uh, you have met me several times and yet you have only just arrived at this conclusion? :D

I love the road down to Ullswater, never done it on the SV and had a real mind blank haha
