My sister is off traveling for a while, she is taking her ipod with here. What I would like to know is it possiable to put moives onto an ipod that haven't come from the apple store?
I have some TV series, moives on my laptop that I want to put onto to the ipod. I don't have itunes, or an ipod as such have never used them hence why I'm stuck. If anyone knows how to do this, could you let me know please I only have a days to do it before she leaves. Thx guys:cool:

I use this converter. Does the job, no hassle, nice and simple. Does take a while though

Any MP4 converter will work. It just needs to be in the proper format for the iPod to accept it....What a money grab by Apple.....

Hi thx guys, one more question how do you set the ipod to work as a hard drive, to drop and drag moives across?
(I know its a simple question, but I just never use ipods; my mp3 player is set up as above)

I dont do it that way and I dont know if you can actually do it that way with an ipod.
What you need to do as the others have said, rip your DVD or whatever into MP4 format, once you've done that import the MP4 file into itunes and then you'll be able to plug the ipod into itunes and synch your movies across.

Real Player did do a Convertor on Mac which I think also was released on Windows.
Its a little bit slow but the quality loss ain't that bad

Yes you can but it requires jail-breaking.
Also you wouldnt have to mess around changing file formats just download one of the ready available 3rd party media player apps and drag and drop your avi/mp4's/mkv's ect ect
