On my ride home ,I let the gixers and blades past .They generaly sit up ya pipe in the 30mph sections.
But some of them when the unrestricted bit of road is ride like ya granda :smt104
So if they want past they are going to have to work for it now.:smt072

I let any bikes past that come up behind me. I prefer riding at my own pace rather than feel pushed.

If they've passed me and then get in the way, hold me up or generally inconvenience me then no prisoners, they'll get treated as any other irritation without the consideration I'd give a bike I had caught up with.

On same logic if I've passed someone filtering and then they catch me up by speeding elsewhere then I'll let them pass.

They could be on an sv like mine and simply a more advanced or daring rider.

If they've passed me and then get in the way, hold me up or generally inconvenience me then no prisoners,

+1 also.

Doesn't matter faster looking bike or not. It's all about the potential tool riding it.

+1 I always move over for more capable riders.

I was behind a guy on an old honda ('84, but not sure what it was, looked like a divi) yesterday on a wide ish twisty road for a few miles, i caught him up after i passed him the other way but i decided to ride the same road back, he didnt bother letting me past so i sat up his backside for a bit, there were places i couldve overtaken him easily but quite enjoyed sitting behind him for a bit until i got bored behind a car, then overtook.

If riders come up my trumpet i will always move over, made the mistake of gunning it once and got a tug as it was a copper on an unmarked bike :(

Always let faster vehicles past as soon as I can.

Boring. I always make a hassle of myself. If they keep up, turn it into a little play session. If they keep up it normally leads to a much more enhanced and enjoyable ride with gust.

Had enough? Pull over and swing a little thumbs up or stick the boot out.

Most memorable was with an R6 about 6 months ago!

Normally wave them passed, tends to be on a warm up lap at the Ring, same with cars. Once on it if something catches me it's quicker, indicate right slight ease off the throttle then try and chase it! Can be a good wake up if riding a little steady.

And at the Ring if you catch something, you are quicker than it, left indicator on and hope it notices you soon! You don't want 1te plus of metal turning into you mid corner, cars kind of win!!

Nice photo Tim!

I let people pass, quite often get people filtering a lot faster than I am willing to on the morning commute. Easiest just to let them get on with it.

Its not commuting i have a problem with.
Its on the sunny ride home through the back roads,on the un-restricted parts .
Its ok if they want to speed in the 30 mph sections. They can pay the fines.

Surely if they are more capable riders with more powerful bikes, it shouldn't be a problem for them to overtake when the first opportunity arises. Why do you think you have to let them pass?

Personally I am aware of faster riders and I'm not making their life's harder but I don't compromise my safety or license for a faster looking bikes.

Well i guess for me its just the ,"If I gass is past the next car are they going to run in to me" syndrome.

Yes but some will not pass if you do not wave them past, instead just sitting up your exhaust.

Plus its a bit of common courtesey imo.

If they're going faster than me, I couldn't give a monkeys what they're riding (or driving), they can go past. If they're too slow, I'll be round them at the first safe opportunity whether riding or driving. I don't get the "ooh, that bike/car is nicer than mine so I must let it past". That's b0ll0cks, quite frankly. I've always ignored it. My last 8 months as a rep were great - dull looking Mondeo hiding a 2.5 V6 which ate flashier looking BMWs and Mercs for breakfast (Audis were still only driven by oddballs back then so there weren't enough to notice).

I know there is a special breed or riders who like sucking on the exhaust while revving their engines in the blind corner. Unfortunately I have no courtesy or sympathy for them as I believe such culture encourages unsafe standards and intimidates unexperienced riders. I move out of their way if it is safe to do so but I don't make it a priority unless it is a police bike flashing blue lights.

Courtesy is about respecting each other and respect is always earned not given.

If you're faster than me, put an overtake in and go. When the situation is reversed, that's exactly what I'm going to do...
