Which Sunday would you guys want to go out for a wee bimble this month?

I haven't even thought of a route either so if you have a nice route post it up.

Well I could be tempted to draw something up for down this way if folks were up for a change of direction?

I say this purely because I'm too lazy to get out of bed on a Sunday morning for a 9/10am start up or North of Glasgow that's all.

No probs.

My brother and I went up to Eilean Donan Castle on Saturday. A bit wet but was a good run.

If JamesMio organises down our way, i would be defo for this! 16th or 23rd are best dates for me.

South suits me. Any of the days apart from the 9th (it's ROTSB V that weekend).

Not a problem with you Chucca, just most of your routes are 200+ mile round trip just to attend. :smt019 I don't really care who organises, just to get out with you guy's.

If I was in the central belt, i would be out every month on yer rideouts

After all, you did such a brilliant job organising the GM this year:rolleyes:

That's not a bad idea at all Lance... Although if I may be so bold as to offer a couple of tweaks?

Ok, let's try that map again (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Abington,+Biggar&daddr=Durisdeer+Mill,+Thornhill+to:thornhill+to:Mo niaive,+Thornhill+to:Saint+John's+Town+of+Dalry+to :corsock+to:Maiden+Row%2FA712+to:Dumfries+to:Moffa t+to:Cappercleuch+to:Tweedsmuir,+Biggar&hl=en&ll=55.286937,-3.573303&spn=0.535697,1.674042&sll=55.062641,-3.633041&sspn=0.13468,0.41851&geocode=FQy-TgMdvKjH_ym5E3o7YwGISDELvJd8Y2EgHQ%3BFR4ZTAMdK57G_ ykhQdi7FK9iSDHh0S7_GmgMJg%3BFYfiSgMdOYTG_ymRb87VLJ ZiSDHUMV026W0z5g%3BFc4-SgMdMC7E_ymRb87VLJZiSDEBwvx0YwHVtQ%3BFVHZSAMdmXLA_ ylNY7S4_pJiSDGL3wCS16CgvA%3BFRdASAMdSsvD_ym3ak2z_7 9iSDFnFnW3GHY7qg%3BFSDHRwMdVJHF_w%3BFUhJSAMdHPPI_y nTkeGimLBiSDGp4rIyyXLt9g%3BFYhSTAMdP2_L_ynXmRf92k1 9SDEUFsAs9WQNBQ%3BFQTLTgMdoB7P_ynZv1cZNfSHSDH0iMMW jM2DPA%3BFZb0TgMdYaTL_yk_6qdGEvmHSDGA26N8HGgMCg&vpsrc=6&mra=ls&t=m&z=10)

From Tweedsmuir (K on the map) you then have the option of heading up the Beeftub towards Broughton then over to Biggar, those heading North can scoot off from here.

- Or -

Heading down the Beeftub back to Moffat (the best section of this road IMO) then you Norfy's can hug the service road alongside the Motorway back up to Abington again?

This gives a route that takes in several of the best roads down this way, namely:

- Dalveen Pass
- Thornhill to St J's of Dalry
- New Galloway to Crocketford
- Moffat to Cappercleuch (aka St Mary's Loch)
- Megget Dam (slow single track, but scenic)
- Devils Beeftub

What more can you ask for!?

This little loop ;) just cause I love that stretch of the A713.

All in though James' route looks a winner so what time do we all meet at Abington services?

I'd be up for coming back down to Moffat, as the Beeftub road is a gem. Northies could head off up the B7076

Home safe and sound at half six, thanks for a super day out. Good roads, good weather and good company. Sadly will be my last for this year with you as dark and cold by half five when the clocks go back.

You guys were so lucky with the weather - I had to nip down to Carlisle yesterday on the bike, and after being blown back INTO Carlisle on my way home I decided to wimp out and dump the bike at Lloyd Honda and cadge a lift back. It's been wild here the past couple of days.

Mio - That'll be divine retribution after sending us up some sh*t covered road in the back end of nowhere!

Did you feel yours ears burning at around 4.00 pm on Sunday?

Just spent all afternoon cleaning my bike of all mud and crud - nice and shiny again:D

Ah, aye it's a fairly rank stretch that bit, sorry I'd have warned you if if spotted it.

Shame because all the bits before and after are ace (Lockerbie-Boreland-Eskdalemuir in particular!)
