View Full Version : ScottOiler Filler tube & Bottle
Wondered if anyone had a spare filler tube and bottle lying around that they dont use?
Rather financially challenged at the moment but will pay postage if anyone's willing to send me one.
Ta muchly oh wonderful .organs.
(and yes, I've tried and failed to bodge something suitable together at home!)
I found one that I'd lost a while back when I cleared up in the garage the other day. I'll look to see if I didn't throw it later. Failing that, I used to use a small syringe as it was around from giving my babies their medicine. Any pharmacy will have them for a few pennies, or free for a nice smile. Ours came from Boots.
Thanks, I'd appreciate it.
I'm just not sure how i'd prime it after filling it with a syringe?
syringe?
Use the syringe. Extend it, pop it onto the white connector set the scottoiler to prime and squeeze the air out of the syringe. Worked ok with the bigger ones.

Sorry, I'm lost. May be because i'm several inches down an 18yo Glenlivet but.
why would filling it with a syringe as opposed to oil bottle create a problem priming it? turn the dial to prime then set to your drip rate.
anyhoo i may have an old bottle in the garage, give me a shout if you need it and i'll have a rake.
ps think is saw boatman at asda the other night but by the time i'd got my ld off he scarpered.
well, i thought setting it to prime would work too, but nadda...apparently you need the bottle to squeeze the air through, either that or it borked.
And yes, it was the boatman you saw, he was sure it was you, but he didnt want to look a twit if it wasnt, and I think he was in a rush, he phoned me and was all "where does KG live? I'm sure I just saw him at asda..."

yep all paniered up, tent and everything, just picking up a cheeky wee malt before heading to a field for a rally.
All i've ever done with mine is filled it up, put on prime, start it up, wait for a drip to appear and set to 2, 4 for winter. tell bm not to be so shy next time. In fact when i think about it my registration plate says kilted ginger.
I think he was in a rush too.
I did set it to prime and then started the bike, but i wasnt sure if the bike needed to be moving or not... and it only had one wheel at the time so couldnt test ride it. didnt appear to do anything when set to prime.

You can prime the vacuum one by popping the top off with a flat edged screw driver and just poor away into the reservoir, whack it back on. Job done :-) ill take a pic if you like.
I made a filler thing from some spare 6mm hose, some silicon, a bottle and one of the injector ends that come with it :D
sounds messy, or potentially so... I'll wait for MG to send me the bottle.
Thanks folks. :)
