Whipped the track fairings off the ninja so I can get them resprayed. Thought i'd take the opportunity to correct some nagging little problems with it, namely

scuffed top yoke from when I was too young and stupid to take my house keys off  bit of brake fluid dripped on to it too to make it extra specially crappy looking
cracked plastic on the clocks, courtesy of some jealous cnut after I parked it in town 1 day
cracked front cowling where the mirrors are bolted to. Only damage from a pansy 10mph drop after running off track

And now after looking at it with its clothes off, I quite fancy turning it into a streetfighter :)

A makeshift front light + a new yoke and flat handlebars = lots of hooligan fun \\:D/

anything under three figures the fairing makes naff all difference in the real world (and of course no one would do those type of speeds...;) ), the S4 benefitted from replacementing the standard clipons with renthals at the beginning of the year, it's a lot lighter on the steering and a most excellent traffic tool as well as a better mile muncher, you might need to stiffen the rear a little as you'll sit back a bit more, but great fun at a lot less speed is achievable.

Cheers Mark.

Think I might go for it :D only takes a few hours to change it back if need be. I've been having a blast on the SV the last 3-4 weeks, not being crumpled up like origami on a sportsbike lets you concentrate on lines and entry speed

you might need to stiffen the rear a little as you'll sit back a bit more, but great fun at a lot less speed is achievable.

Shouldn't be a problem with this, the worlds most solid rear shock! But if the front going light on occasion is the end result, then so be it ;)

oh don't worry to much you soon learn the "lean", not the standard "to the side" thing but a push the shoulders forward type thing to get some weight over the front when opening it up, it's kind of essential on the superduke.....

So long as you make the front end like Bender! It's half way there already!

Yes, stubby the can and then be amazed at how it's killed all your top end power.

I dont mean hack it down so its just a few inches long, just hack a few inches off, shouldnt notice bugger all difference. Besides if you notice lack of top end power on that bike you should be on a track and not on the road.

I think I would take Yoshimura's take on engineering a decent can.

It'll be spending most of its time on track ;) i've decided against the streetfighter (for now) because I want to get in a couple more trackdays this year. I've got full wets so bring it on!

Yep pretty much my take on it. Cost me a fair amount a while back and who am I to fiddle with Yoshis finest :)

Haha I thought it looked a bit like a cylon, but now that you mention it yes definitely more bender-ish!

Thats a new clock cover on order from Kawasaki and most of the front of the bike dismantled in order to get the feckin yoke cover off ](*,) note to self, don't scratch it in future cause its a right ballache to put right!
