Hi all, Matt here.

I'm not only a newbie to the site but new to the world of bikes.

I passed my DAS almost 2 years ago, but have just got round to getting a bike.

The bike I plunged for is a 2001 curvy SV 650 naked in blue. Its pretty much spot on on the face of it. Its got 12 months MOT and 6 months Tax. It has had 2 owners, has fsh and has covered 7200 miles.

The bike came with Renthal bars fitted which I think look great and a remus can, which sounds great (are remus exhausts good or not?)

I've only managed to go out a couple of times due to the weather but loving it so far.....although not managed to get it out in the dry yet!

Can anyone give me any tips on what to pay attention to when servicing, any suggestions on additional parts (I fancy a belly pan and fly screen) and how to tidy up forks that have been subjected to the odd stone chip or 2!

Thanks all.

Heres a quick pic.

Nice looking bike you've got there. Welcome aboard, they're a good bunch on here and don't bite too hard. :smt098

Welcome to the Org!

Nice low mileage curvy you have there, hope you have many years enjoyment :riding:

As for servicing just do it yourself, new air/oil filter, quick oil change, check the plugs, check the chain tension and clean/oil chain, grease all moving parts with appropriate grease, ACF50 all over if riding in bad conditions (not brakes or controls etc), check tyres and inflate to correct pressure, check all lights & indicators are working, horn functioning!

Have fun!
