Just realised that pay-day isn't until Friday.
I'd rather not get a large wadge of Euros until I've been paid (which is likely to be anytime from getting on the boat onwards).
Obviously I don't want to get stuff on the boat because of the huge comission, but do you reckon I'll be ok just drawing stuff from a Cash Machine on the other side?
Specialone
25-04-12, 04:28 PM
Should be ok Tom I think, just don't expect so many banks to be around.
Dave20046
25-04-12, 04:31 PM
I'll be in the same ferry tom.hopefully going to get 50 euros or so tomorrow rest on card/cash machine
I was planning on doing the petrol via card and the rest cash. Depends on how much it costs to get into stuff I guess?
Specialone
25-04-12, 04:55 PM
Just try and get out a lump of cash as you'll be charged per withdrawal, which can mount up.

SV has passed the MOT! :D
**** you got an MOT the day before?! Lucky that passed :dj:
-Ralph-
25-04-12, 05:03 PM
Ferry will take Stirling, I'm going to draw from a cash machine in Le Havre.
Just put a black bin liner over my tailback held on with a luggage net, and put the waterproof covers over the panniers (though everything us bagged inside the luggage anyway, its just extra defenses!)
Waterproof overtrousers are out of the bag and on my saddle, decided they are going on whether it's raining when I leave in the morning or not!

Woo excited now, hope I haven't forgotten to pack something! I have a list but what if I forgot to put something on the list, ahhhh OCD time....

Lazy git :)
This is important guys, I know they always say this but in the t&c's they say people must check in a minimum of 45 mins before departure (10.15pm)
If everything goes to plan this evening, our lot should be in portsmouth by 8.30-9pm.
I think they allow boarding from around 9pm, so we can chill for a bit, get a coffee before getting on the ferry :)

By the time you get to the English coast the French ferry and port workers will probably have thought of a reason to go on strike.
Just be glad that was the only secret I revealed RD. I could have mentioned the one about the Marmite, leather chaps and donkey.
