Family member has bought a new Acer Aspire 5743z laptop thingy and it has a strange problem. The touchpad freezes or becomes very twitchy and inaccurate when the charging lead is plugged in to a wall socket[irrespective of whether the power is switched on or not]Unplug it and it works again. An external mouse works fine all the time. There is an Acer download/update relevant to this, but it has been done with no difference.Needless to say it has been back to the seller for fixing but they cant find anything wrong with it.
Anyone know of why this may be?

Have you tried different mains sockets around the house? What about other premises? Not to say there is something wrong with your home wiring but it could explain why they couldn't find the fault. I would also try a different power supply if available. Either way, I would return it, maybe shoot a little video showing the issue to prove your case.

It has been returned[more than once] but I dont think it has been tried elsewhere.Has been tried in different sockets around the house.Given that the issues arises even if the socket is switched off could it be poor wiring?
I will suggest trying it at a neighbours place.
Hmmmm poor wiring----------place has all been rewired over the last two years or so------better not be.
