I'm sure I've read on here somwhere that Stramasher is going to this? Anybody else?
I'm going (but flying - not taking the bike, unfortunately). Stramasher - you biking or flying? Please say flying - I would be too jealous otherwise!
Quick question - have you been before? If you have, have you been out to Chesne on the Friday night (used to hold this on a Thursday night, I think) when all the racers go out and join in the fun with the monster Paella, etc.
Feel a bit of a muppet. The OH booked circuit tickets (because it gets so busy) and we paid a fortune for basic seats, when only last month we were in Spain (got the ferry over to Santander to head up to Le Mans for the 24hr race) and could of gone to Santander's El Corte Ingles (spelling is bound to be incorrect!) and bought the tickets for a fraction of the price!!

Biking down!

Nah, not a chance. Done Jerez last year, set off Tuesday night and left the Monday morning at 3am and rode for a midday ferry at Santander (the woman folk flew.) Only now can I look back and laugh about it taking 6months to get full feeling back in my fingers!

Dawn on the plains. Frozen, sleep deprived and with on-a-mission, speed induced 1000 yard stares (my bud having a 5min nap.)

4 of us flying out the friday about 6.45am! :smt015 Hire a mobile shoebox, whoever is still sober drives Alicante to Valencia, dump our toothbrushes etc and go pick up our tickets from one of the banks. Train to circuit or go touristy about Valencia.
Head out to Cheste (the stop after the circuit) on the (running 24hrs over the weekend) trains about 11pm for "The Nonsense" :smt047 :rave:

Was there in '06 (Hayden winning championship, Rossi falling, Bayliss winning on the Duc, 90F! ) Its the dowtown Baghdad-a-like fiesta every night I always rave about to folk though. Search "Cheste MotoGP".

Have fun. Will look out for youse amongst the madness.... and we are up top of Green at the circuit. :salut:

Don't know where I got 'Chesne' from??! I'm going Edinburgh/Alicante on the Thursday, but on the train - going to use public transport for the trip - to get up to Valencia. Glad to hear about the 24hr service out to Cheste. I was hating the idea of going out for the 'Paella night' or the 'Nonsense' and having to leave Cheste at 11pm or whatever when things were getting started. Can't remember the colour of the stand we're in, but I'll let you know when I find out (the tickets are meant to arrive over here a week before we leave). Just reading your post makes me go 'C'mon, let's go'. Can't wait! Just a shame that the Moto GP class has been sorted (well done Casey). I see in todays MCN that Jorge looks likely to be out - nasty pic accompanys the story. Could have done with a fraction of the excitement of the Wilson/ Seeley and Hopper/Hill shenanigans, but I'm sure I will enjoy it all the same!!

A kind man from UPS delivered some MotoGP tickets today (not quite ready to 'woo hoo' because of last week-ends stuff). Stramasher - if you're passing the red tribune (row 10) give us a wave!

Glad you got sorted.

No idea what to expect next week after last weekend. The Spanish don't tend to do things by halves. Missus watched the funeral yesterday. Too much for me. Got my memories.

Usually have a wander about on the saturday. You may hear us before you see us. *clink, clink, clinky kerry oot* :drink::mrgreen:

Well, careful who you end up drinking with! Earlier at this years Le Mans MotoGP we ended up drinking with a couple of guys from Ireland after Saturdays practice. We got pretty wasted. I have plenty of photos from the Sunday with Bob sitting with his head in his hands. The four of us had the cheek to comment about the NW200 not being the same as it once was cos of all the young folk getting absolutely blootered. Obviously it must be OK if you are old farts like ourselves!haha!

I think it is time to start saving for next years MotoGP! What a circuit! I could see most of it from where I was sitting. As well as Ben and the Honda boys swapping over, Cal and Karel were scrapping for most of the race, as was Josh Hayes and the Japanese guy that replaced Jorge. I watched the race on the telly on Tuesday night when I got home and the telly doesn't give you any indication of the Hondas horsepower down the start/finish straight - poor Ben!

You home yet, Stramasher or did you get yourself arrested out at Cheste? It's like the wild west out there! I had been sitting in the Chinese restaurant (decided to do the sensible thing and line my stomach before all the Sangria) and there were burnouts going on right outside the door in the narrow street. The waitress tut-tutted and shut the door. My Spanish is not good enough to say"What's a little tyre smoke over tea? - keep the door open" haha!
Bumped into Scott Redding in the airport on the way home. I was surrounded by pensioners and Scott had his arm around my shoulder, while I was having my photo taken and they must have been thinking "Who the hell is that?"haha! I'm not into the whole photograh/autograph hunting thing, but I got set up by the OH!! What a nice young guy though.
Great fun, great track (even though it was freezing).

How could I have got arrested in Cheste when there are no cops? :p

They only appear when somebody needs scraping off the road and then they go back to moping about on the edge of town letting all the loonballs carry-on carrying on. "Quality Polis.":)

I'm a big Scott Redding fan. (Never chapped his door in that pic above though!) Just the right amount of nutcase/daft boy about him. (Big wheelies coming out the pits EVERY session etc.)

Great weekend non-stop. (Despite it being no tshirt and shorts this year)

I want a engine-in-a-shopping-trolley for next November 5th. Better and louder than any firework.:rave:

Afraid I didn't see that out at Cheste. I was out on the Friday night/Saturday morning (afraid to say, I peaked too early and was in my bed by 9pm on the Saturday night - what a lightweight!). Maybe spent too much time up at the Agricola Bar up in the Mayors square! The band, although mostly dressed as if they had just come from working on a construction site, were brilliant. No sign of any riders on the Mayors balcony as in previous years. Not sure if that was a 'respect thing' for Marco?
If you like that kinda stuff, get yourself down to Magny Cours for the 24hr hour Endurance race (they have three/four engines bouncing off each other noise-wise and flame height-wise - while the band is trying to play!).
On the Sunday night, they had the awards show on the telly. Do you know whereabouts they hold that? Must be somewhere in Valencia. On the news it showed Nico Terol going about in an open-topped car. That would have been good to see 'live' out in the street.
