very sad. Part of my childhood.
pfft.. he never did fix it for me.
What a guy though, lived frugally and died a millionaire.
Many charities will have benefited through his hard work and dedication.

Hm, he was one of the biggest fundraisers of our time. But did he ever actually smoke one of those cigars?
Too late to change my outfit for the 'Famous Dead Person' party I'm going to next Saturday. I've already bought everything I need to go as Princess Diana.

An awesome Yorkshireman. A bit eccentric, but a fantastic charity fund raiser.
Never fixed it for me either!
Now then, now then........RIP Jim!

Apparently raised over £40 million (hence the "Sir" I guess). Never fixed it for me either, but it didn't stop me watching every week. RIP strange tracksuit man, you can light up whenever you want now

Another part of my childhood has passed away.
I do wonder how many stories around his 'eccentricity' are going to start surfacing though....

They all did a very long time ago, but he somehow escaped prosecution.
I heard another one from a near victim's husband today - a bloke I'd trust with mine and my kids' lives. His wife was apparently quite happy that Saville had died.
Tigerrrr.......

Lozzo, this is neither the time nor the place for that sort of comment. Show some respect, please.

I agree. Tbh I wasa just searchinh to see if a joke I was gonna post had been posted before. I saw the thread and reacted. I dunno if there's been many saville trhreads on here but................i really belief the cover up is as awful if not worse than the crime.
I hate the cover up cowards.

Don't think it's wrong to bring it up.
This one shows how much of an open secret it was, even if many of us didn't take much note of the whisperings (myself included).

The police are now looking for accomplices to Jimmy Savile...it's is thought that Jeremy Beadle had a small hand in it.
Gary Glitter has been arrested (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20114378) again.

I'm not known for being subtle so I wouldn't even consider that a mild ticking off, let alone a roasting.
Savile was the lowest pondlife scum imaginable, it was a well known fact and I'd heard things about him many years ago (from an old female friend who had appeared repeatedly on TOTP in the early 80s) that made even me cringe.
In all honesty, I hope the ar5ehole rots in hell for what he did.
Now who's going to tell me to be respectful now?

Now who's going to tell me to be respectful now?
Me, you inconsiderate b*stard.
Speaking ill of that which can't speak back to defend itself, I mean come on.
See this feller here inhabits a pond where I go diving occasionally
http://vimeo.com/12035867
See just going about his business quietly eating things, one of the most ancient varieties of fish still living and you go around insulting him like that. I'm truly shocked you would describe any pond life in such terms...

It's just a sad shame that he isn't here to answer for the awful atrocities he committed. Also that those who let it slide while the money was coming in are now rushing to wash their hands of it.
I reckon there's a number of people absolutely bricking it right now. And rightly so.
Radio at work says Freddie Starr been arrested now, wow, didn't see that coming....
Rumour has it Basil Brush's catchphrase after his jokes was actually a cry for help! Sorry, I know its a poor one!
Apparently Freddie Starr didn't eat a hamster, it was a 14 year old beaver
