OK, my new VoW (Van of Win) has a few stuck on chrome letter jobbies that need getting rid of, otherwise it'll only be milf I'll be cruising with ;)

So what's the best way to remove these bad boys without ripping off the paint?

Hair Dryer will have them off in a jiffy. Also petrol on a rag will clean all the gunk off too. Or wait for a really cold winter and they just drop off!! My Vectra became an ctra.
Ive used a hairdryer before. Are they stuck on with foam pads?
Whats a van of win anyway?

Cheers for the tips, although I don't own a hairdryer!

Steal yer wife's if not a heat gun on a low setting ?
I've heard of people using dental floss to cut through the glue.

Someone said boiling water should shift it but don't do what my mate did & pour a kettle over the boot of his car & then proceed to use a metal scraper to pry the letters off (yes he is an idiot).
