Following Ed's Jack o lantern thread I present you our melon for 2011

Pumpkins in short supply down south so used our ripe ol' melon

Can't be arsed with taking a photo of ours.

But meat from the pumpkin is being used to make a pumpkin soup. Waste not want not.

now that is scary..well contents of water melon is being turned into water melon shake type things ala thailand with a splash of vodka ;)

Usually done free hand, but an American friend gave us a carving kit, which had stencils for doing a number of scary designs

My 4yr old boy asked I carve Batman.
I opted for a simpler design.

This is the pumpkin that my ex carved for Luis yesterday. He's 3 and loves dinosaurs, so he was very excited about it.
