well tonight seems to be the first proper day when the weather returns to winter with cold wet rides home. being the first day of full out rain on the way home from work alot of drivers forgetting bikers exist and the 2 second rule turns into a 4+ second rule when braking.
BE SAFE.
( I wimped out and got a lift from GF home as i didnt want another accident, and didnt want to get wet, and the didnt want weekend bike wet either)
what annoyed me a little bit was, today at uni we have a Guildford school of acting where stuck up wimpy moany girls and boys go, who think the world of themselfs. someone had spelt hot water on themselfs (around 80 degrees) who then had to call for an ambulance rather then using there brains and put it under cold water and dealing with it. But no an ambulance had to be called out at a time when alot of car driver's, cyclists and motorcyclists get hurt who actually need proper first AID rather then attention and a cuddle. duno about you but, i hate making a fuse unless i cant physically walk or blood is gushing out of me.
Sorry, so you are at surrey uni, i just graduated from there. (Sorry total derail), and yeah it is bloody soaking, I made the mistake of going out, an interesting ride to say the least

Raining down there is it, big deal, not
That's because they all know each other or at least will keep seeing each other in the same class. You've got to seem to care.
If you go past an accident in the road it's very easy to think someone else will have phoned ambulance /police when in reality no-one does or has.
My wife stopped to help a girl who was lying unconscious on the pavement in Liverpool a while ago, god knows how long she'd been there but she was opposite a couple of clubs & the doormen had done nothing either. It was quite surprising how many people suddenly cared when someone else had taken control of the situation.

so if you spilt hot water on yourself at a temperature of 80 degrees you would need an ambulance?
i came of my bike twice now, first time i broke my hand.
second time i went into a car of which i spectacularly went over then hit on coming car.
while everyone in both cases people came to help me, i had common sense whether the need of an ambulance was not necessary, which is alot more serious then a small cup of hot water. Come on it costs the tax payer hundreds of pounds for a call out like that. Even though both cases i had seriously hit head I should have got VIP treatment at hospital. maybe i'll think twice next time.
not to have accident mainly!!!
but rinse the NHS for everytime i hurt myself on a hot pan or get too drunk to walk home.
(although when i broke hand i didnt know it was broken until x-ray)

People will always take advantage, as per usual the assh@les. I met some paramedics on holiday a while ago & the stories of the call outs they had to attend would make you cringe. The worst I can remember them saying is a regular caller who was massively fat & would call them to help put their duvet over them.

Back to the OP (yes - it does happen every now and then on this forum) it has been very obvious that the trees down here in the southern home counties have all decided to lose their leaves in a hurry. Large piles of the damn things are everywhere and I can no longer see my lawn thanks to my neighbour's beech trees.
Do watch out on corners all.

You know. I used to enjoy riding in the rain. If it wasn't for the other farkwits on the road, it'd be an enjoyable experience.
Mind the wet leaves, though...

took a ride home from college on thursday and could'nt see a bloody thing and had three little front end slides that did'nt help the matter. defiantly noticed the ****ty car drivers crawling around anoys the hell out of me as even though its raing and visability is bad they could at least keep the flow going. braking every five seconds is what cause crashes in the first places. so its time to use this 4 wheeled thing that keeps us dry and safe
