For those that know the area, packington ford by Coleshill, is now closed to any traffic :(

I went up today as was in the area and there's a gate across with a notice on a post explaining it's closure.

This was a place families used to go in the summer and the kids would paddle in the ford, I'm sad it's now closed, one of earliest memories was my dad taking us up there one Sunday afternoon, my dad died when I was 7 so I don't have that many memories of that time.

I hope it wasn't 4x4's ripping the area up that caused the closure.

Anyway, just for info really.

That was in the 60's mind

Lived around that area as a kid, church Broughton, Burton on Trent, Rolleston, Barton under needwood - my folks are still at Coalville.
Before my time my dad and his mates used to cycle there.

Not sure Phil, but I believe the hole area belongs to/comes under the jurisdiction of Packington Estates? I know they have had problems with 4Xs and Quads trespassing and severe problems with poachers taking deer, the deer heard was moved from that area about 3 months ago, I believe.
