View Full Version : MOT question
Hi guys,
I read on here a few days ago quite an intersteing thread about how you need a reflector on hevrear of your bike to Pass an MOT.
I noticed tonight my bike has a tail tidy which means there is no number plate light.
Is this legal? Will it pass an MOT without one???
Cheers

Depends, a rear reflector is a legal and MOT requirement*, but MOT testers are human and have been known to overlook things occasionally.
*They're not necessarily the same thing.

The reflector thread was mine and NTECUK posted this link to the mot testing manuals and guides, it's magic for this kind of question, although I did have a quick look and couldn't find anything about a number plate light. Have a look and see, maybe I missed it.

No number plate required on a motorcycle, reflector is though.
Podgey on a bike :)

Number plate light? ;)
That'll be why I didn't see it in the manual then.:)
