View Full Version : Pointy rear lights with built in indicators
I have seen quite a few of these on ebay. They look like they might look quite cool.
Firstly, is it legal?.. And secondly, do any o you guys have these or have used one in the past?
I am very tempted!!
Cheers
The do not meet the required legislation as the indicators are too close together, and incorporated with the brake lights.

Apparently the light dispersion on them is terrible too. Check out a company called "hot bodies" ( or something like that) they do an awesome undertray with flush mount indi's. A bit pricey, but comes with all lights and a tail tidy too ( I think)

I was wondering about this - is it considered ok if you keep separate Indys on too? Bit pointless I know but just thinking

No, the regs concerning your rear light prevent the differing colours of light inside the same lens, which this is, and they'd still be indicators too close together.
That undertray looks awesome. Bit pricey though, i dont hate my indicators that much!! Haha.

I know. It looks great right. Really tidies the back up. Not too pricey when you factor in £60 for tail tidy + £30 for decent indi's. Plus...um... Ok, it's pricey :|
Haha. I have just got spme smaller indies which are quite bice but just noticed the connectors are not the same as standard??
Would you cut the standard connectors off and crimp new ones ??

I got some smaller ones too and went ahead and cut the grey connectors off the bike.
BUT. I found some leads in a store the other day which has bullet connectors at one end and the grey Suzuki one at the other - so no cutting.
Search eBay for "Suzuki indicator lead"

Brilliant. Thank you. Is it bad cutting the ones off the bike ???

No problem :)
Not bad cutting them off, just makes it easier to fit new ones and put stock ones back on if you ever want to if you use the leads.

That does look neat and tidy - only one concern - with something like that it seems wont to be able to do much riding in wet weather; wouldnt it create a mess on the rear of the bike?
