Damnit, if you were selling it a month later I would be snapping this off your hands. At the moment I've got a rubbish ATI Radeon HD5450 in with only 512mb.

But unfortunately until post xmas its a no no. :-(

Just out of interest - the new one, is that the 3D variant? 2gb version?

Nice new Xmyth pressie - I'm thinking a GTX560 will be brought for me from (I'm an NVIDIA guy thanks to the better Linux support (and any card I have usually cascades down to my Linux box, which in this case means it would get an upgrade from the 7800 in it now, to my current GTX460-Talon Attack)

Well, I had to go out and replace the guts of my PC last weekend, and the GTX460 is kind of letting the rest of the system down a bit :p (i5 2500k, 16GB RAM, 60GB SSD)

Its a VTX3D - 1GB version mate there wasnt much between them tbh and by the time 2GB is needed for gaming I will have upgraded to a new card anyway.

Nice system, I just installed a M4 64GB SSD into my system, whooooo it rocks, Well it was either this 6950 or the GTX 560 ti.
After much debate I went for the ATI.
It has a dual bios (with hardware switch) which is really cool in case you mess-up when flashing ect. And the 6950 is essentially a locked down 6970 and I will be flashing it with a 6970 BIOS tonight when I get home :)

I popped in an OCZ Agility3 SSD (http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-agility-3-sata-iii-2-5-ssd.html).

Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 (http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3848#ov)

Memory is Corsair Vengence kit, at the price of it, the 2nd 8GB was almost a no-brainer.

Added all that to 2 exsiting 500GB HD's (RAID0'd), my SATA Lightscribe DVD-Writer and stuffed it all into my aging but great Coolermaster Praetorian case

All that lets it down is the CPU cooler, which had to be a less brilliant part than I wanted as the Praetorian case, due to its removable mobo-tray is not big enough for 120mm fan based coolers.

Sweet, I will change my board/CPU next year at some point. Still running AMD Phenom II x4 3.2 overclocked to 3.8 though.

This was an upgrade from an Athlon X2 4200...

System failed after I tried an upgrade to a Phenom X4 - but still a slow one - the mobo would only take up to a 95W CPU.

Bump before evil-bay

SoulKiss

Did it sell?

I found another GTX460 Hawk Talon Attack on the bay of evil yesterday, won it, but paid as much for a 2nd hand card as I did for the one I already had when it was brand new.

Still tweak the clocking on these 460's, tickle the CPU a bit (just for a Corsair Hydrocooler H80 to fit too) add some more case fans and see what I end up with :).
