warning xbox update can e47 your box

this new ****ty dashboard update has just e47'd my box and im not a happy fecking teddybear

it seems to have happened to a load of people too

will get back if fix is found
some say i has to do with flashed boxs we will see

flashing allows you to play backup games.
If your not that technically minded then I would leave well alone as you can brick you dvd drive and render you xbox useless.

usb stick is just one of the ways to update the dashboard without connecting to live
Besides there are some other benefits from having a really old dashboard ;)

Dave FFS ..... I`ve said this before to you , why do you even bother with flashed Xboxes when you buy the games anyway , they always find out in the end , you may as well have bought a normal one and be done with it . 3rd one now isn`t it ?

This is true but then again the way I see it is.

You can pick up a pre-owned xbox360 for around 50 quid these days
Microsoft only ban in waves usually once a year.
If you have to replace one console a year at a cost of 50 pounds how Manny games would you have paid for that year if you xbox wasn't flashed ?
Most new games costs from £30.00 to £39.99
So to me it seems more economical to flash the xbox and burn off my games and buy a new xbox once a year IF it gets banned.
If I like a game I will support the developer and buy it

Gears of war (Series)
LA Noire / GTA / Red dead redemption
Foraz (Series)

If its crap it gets binned you don't really have the option to do that if you just paid 39.99 for a game do you.

I have three xbox's

1 is 3 years old flashed and not banned
1 is 2 years old is flashed and banned
1 is 2 years old and not flash or banned

the one that's banned was only banned because I couldn't be bothered waiting for the stealth patch to be released for a new game that had just come out and I just played it.
As long as you keep your games patched correctly and run the latest firmware you shouldn't really get banned as you can see by my three year old console that's still live capable.

Updated ok, but the download took ages! I'm not too keen on the new dashboard though. I think they said iPlayer is coming in the new year but that you have to be a gold member to use any of the new services. Rather buy a PS3 and use them for free!

too right, I refuse to pay the xbox fees as I just dont go on there enough to warrant it, just seems to steep for me. Although on the other side, sony is free and suffered major hacking issue.
