Recently my bike has started sounding a lot better. trying to figure out why i disovered that my down pipe has a tiny hole that alows some exhaust gases escape. The hole is very near where the downpipe meets the muffler.
I know that i can fix this quite easily but I dont want to loose my improved sound...
My question is, is it dangerous for my engine in any way to run my bike with a hole in the pipe?

If I understand you correctly, you have a gap in the meeting join between the front down pipe and the link pipe. If so there's no damage going to be done, but the sound might be a little less than perfect.

If on the other hand you have rust that has made a hole in the side-wall of the down pipe, then this will only get louder, and you're best off looking for a new pipe. This is quite uncommon as far as I know.

Find £100 and buy an end-can ;)

As my dear old grandmother always used to say, better a hole in your downpipe than a downpipe in your hole:rolleyes:

If its a curvy I'm sure theres a purposely drilled hole in that area...............very tiny perfectly formed.
