View Full Version : Pointy lower fairing questions

I've got my eye on a set of lowers for my K4, however the panels are from a K9, are a bit scuffed and would need painting. They are also just going as the panels, no fittings included.
Firstly, would the K9 fairing fit the K4? Both pointy SVs, but have there been any further changes between '04 and '09 that would cause problems here?
Next, how much would I expect to pay to get these things sprayed? The bike is gloss black, so a colour match might not be necessary?
Last, is the lack of fittings going to be a pain in the ****? Or can I pick them up somewhere for a tenner?
Cheers!

1: both the k4 and k9 are the exact same bike physically and such all body parts will directly swap. They will fit!
2: Im dealing in euros mate but at a guess i would say about £150 odd, give or take a bit.
3: You can buy the fitting kit from robinsfoundry but it retails at bout £100 i think. Ridiculous price for a few bolts and brackets. Keep an eye on ebay, could appear there! Or you could piece the kit together yourself, there really isnt a whole lot to it. Just get a pick of the kit online and work with that at your local diy. You could, improvising, get your own fitting kit for a couple of quid.
Hope this helps!

How much you looking at paying for lowers? I have some black k4 ones for sale, bloke at work has first dibs, I am waiting for him to say yeah or nay.
Would you be interested if falls thru .... immaculate nebular black.
Don't buy the fitting kit - get a set of crash bungs from R&G, much better! They replace the crappy bending tubes suzuki supply, with a solid billet of alloy for less money.
The other collars, top hats should be with lowers and you can pick up the allen bolts online or a decent hardwear shop.
I paid £150 for respraying my black lowers in the black with the blue fleck.

Cheers for the input guys!
Shelly, how much do you want for them? Fair enough if your mate wants them, but I'll give you a fair price if you want a quicker sale.
Do you have the fixing kit, too?

There are other brackets that need to be made up, such as the fixings from the radiator and the mounting posts near the footrests.
