Bearing Removal?

Hi chaps, I'm in the process of replacing the bearings on my curvy SV and have got some out but have fit upon the bearings in the rear shock cusion leaver and the swinging arm. Can these be knocked straight through of do they need to be pulled out? I have taken a picture of the bearings

In the 2nd picture I knocked the bearing out, think I warmed the area first with a heat gun.

I wasn't worried about damaging the bearing as I was replacing them with new ones after getting my swingarm powder coated.

Didn't do the shock cusion leaver bearing

So you knocked them straight through, i.e one pushed the other out? I've done the main swinging arm ones and they need to be pushed out from the other side - there is a lip that stops them going too far in.

I had to apply quite alot of heat on the other bearings in the cushion and gave it a good few whacks to get them out.

No, I think it did one from each side using socket extension bar as a drift.

Can't remember what size socket set either half inch or smaller, which ever fit through the hole!

Yep, plenty of heat and plenty of whacks to get mine out too.

Well I can answer part of my original question the bearing on the cushion / linkage just push straight through and I think on the swinging arm the is a shoulder, one has recessed about 3mm and stopped now need to work out how to get the buggers out....chisel maybe.

Well if anyone is interested there is a shoulder in the swinging arm shock mount. As Maviczap says a 17mm socket was a perfect fit to miss the shoulder but catch the bearing outer to knock it out. I found the best way was to break up the cage and remove, then put some weld onto the remains of the bearing outer which seemed to get a decent amount of heat into it then knocked it out with a few swift hits of a lump hammer.

Now to decide whether to powder coat the frame and swinging arm or just spray it myself, spraying would be alot cheaper as already have paint, compressor, guns, masks etc for it or the expensive but I guess more durable option of getting it powdered.

I had mine powder coated and looks very nice, but if you've got the kit and knowledge I'd paint it
