No this isn't a thread asking when I'm going to run out of fuel. This is a 'I'm an idiot who ran out of fuel on the M25 last night!' thread
My early warning intermittent light came on at 127 miles, solid a while later and then finally conked out at 165 approaching junction 17 clockwise on the M25! I'm probably not the only person who has experienced being stopped by the side of a motorway in the dark and rain, felt very vulnerable.
Luckily I was quite close to the junction so managed to push it up to it and then coast down to the roundabout below where I waited for my lovely girlfriend to show up with a jerry can of petrol.
Silly situation to end up in. Trying to move from the outside lane across when your engine is flattening out and stalling isn't fun. And all because I was trying to make it to Watford before filling up as petrol is 129.9p compared to 136 near me. Plus I can't get 180-200 miles out of a tank like then I first started riding! Oops.
Lesson learnt.
