Top-end noise?

Anybody got ideas on unwanted top-end clatter on cold start on my K5 650 naked?This has only come to pass in the last couple of months .It runs perfectly,seems to develop normal power and is used on long runs only,no stop start driving.I replaced oil and filter recently but the noise did not disappear!

Valve clearances? Tappety noise that generally quietens as the engine warms up. Or timing chain slapping.
