The legend of early evening TV quizzes has passed away , Bob Holness of "Blockbusters" fame passed away in his sleep this morning , I loved his program as a Yoof and the likes of him will never be on TV again ..... RIP Bob .

Heard on the lunchtime news. Sad that we all get old and eventually snuff it. He seemed to have a quiz show formulae that worked with the youth of the time.

Heard on the news at lunch time. I guess time catches up with us all eventually, and he'd not had a bad innings, but still a sad day.

RIP, it is funny the older I get the younger the old people sound. My dad is 76 this year, very young and vital, and suddenly 83 does not sound that old. But what a good obituary to have so many people feel sad that you have died, I used to love his show, it was such a good link between kids and evening tv.

I'd like to think the story that he played the Saxaphone on Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street was really true.
