Just stripped out the broken extractor fan in my Bathroom.

Is an old-style syrface mount Xplair DX200T - big n bulky.

This has left me with about a 6" diameter hole with a 4" ducting pipe and a chocolate block terminated (by me) set of wiring.

The new DX200T is designed to be mounted recessed into the ceiling, and is about £60.

Looking around I can see a DX100T which is much smaller and would be easy to mount, also a flush mount kind of thing and costs £20

Can I go cheap on this, or should I spring for the DX200T, the Bathroom IS fully internal (no windows) and is about 8'x6' so ventilation is rerally required.

Or is there another unit I should think about fitting?

Ive stopped fitting 4 inch fans now for people as they are only barely decent if they stay on for 15 mins after a shower or bath.
4 inch fans generally move 80 cubic metres an hour, 6 inch move 240+ metres an hour, its a no brainer really.

Im not fully getting what you're asking tbh, are you saying you dont want a 6 inch fan anymore?

Ive just fitted item 36631 (http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Electrical/Fans/d190/sd280) in my own bathroom, works great.

The 4" we've got is hopless compared to the 8" that was originally in.
Is there the space to get the 6" duct in?

Avoid the energy saving ones they're pap IMHO

Nah its 4" output or nothing, dont have access to the ducting beyond where it comes through the ceiling.

Might have to go for the new DX200T then - I think it movesa bit more air than the DX100T and the like.

You can get more effecient 4 inch fans that might move more air.

Ive just had a quick look in some catalogues i have and the highest i can find in there is 95 cubic metres an hour, so a slight improvement.

Actually, you could step it down from 6 inch to 4 inch, it will increase output pressure a bit but ultimately will move more air.
