Yesterday I was looking for a used part on ebay for a customer's Versys when I found someone advertising genuine Kawasaki Versys air filters at £58.05 plus £3 p+p. This seemed a bit excessive so I checked the part number he'd given in the description against the parts list I can access at work and it was for a 2004 KX250. I dropped the guy a message explaining that the part number was wrong and was he sure the price was correct as I'd checked the cost of a Versys filter and he was a touch more expensive. Today I got a response saying he apologised for getting the number wrong but the price was correct. A genuine Versys air filter is only £31.90 inclusive of VAT, that's a hell of a lot different to the £58.05 he's asking, it's almost double the price of one from your local dealer.
Check out oem prices before you buy in ebay, this isn't the first time I've seen chancers do this with genuine service items.
