Just bought one. Very high quality, sturdy and good VFM.

Anything Camelbak and you should be fine.

I've always had CamelBak's. They are quite expensive, but pretty sturdy. The hydration delivery system is easy and just plain works.

I have got the Osprey Raptor 10 (litre) for mtbing. Great bladder design with 3litre capacity.
That extra space could come in handy but they do a 6 litre one aswell and that has a 2litre bladder.

Majority of people have Camelbak they are good but I've never had one.

For walking I have a Berghous bag that is extremely comfortable to wear. It is slightly larger than a day-sac so I can use it for two or three day hikes, but they do smaller day-sac versions. I find the Berghous quality excellent and the fit first class. The bladder pocket will take the hydration system of your choice.

For an day out I would also happily use my Osprey Raptor 14 MTB backpack.

If I was looking for a new back-pack now, I would get myself down to a good outfitter and try on a number of different makes / models of pack then buy the one with the harness system that fits me best.

Camelbak for me, used for years now, still good as new, used for holidays, biking, walking, skiing etc!

Survived some serious falls at skiing etc with absolutely no damage!

Used every day near enough.

I use a Dueter Speed Lite 10 pack with a Source Widepac bladder. Great combo.
