If I keep hold of it until September i can afford to get it repaired but if i get a good offer before then I'll be able to upgrade in September.

Not really bothered either way now. :batman:

slightly over 40k miles and the year is in there..... :s

I do unfortunately feel you will be keeping it till September at £1500 ONO for a spares/repairs bike.

Still September is leading right into prime riding season... ;)

Mate I don't want to be harsh but as Binky said that's not going to happen.

If you could sell a non running curvy with 40k on the clocks for £500 (not £1,500) I would suggest you move to the Sahara and make a living selling sand to the locals.

I've bought similar for between £200 - £300, only difference was the bottom end was gone on the engine. Accessories are dead money mate, all they do is attract people to the bike, unfortunately they don't add any value to the bike.

A £2k bike with all that stuff on would still be a £2k bike, sorry.

Fraid I have to agree with Stretchie

I bought my Curvy for £1800 4 years ago with 7k on the clocks

So you're not going to get £1500 for a broken curvy, £500 is nearer the mark

I just bought a yellow curvy with 24k on clock and lots of accessories and a brand new unfitted rear tyre for £875, runs right as rain no problems at all.

I'll offer you (and yes I am serious) £500 for this now, although on the basis of how much you're after I'll be surprised if you take it :)

I put £1500 ONO because as per the rules i am required to put an asking price, you can offer what you like, as long as we're in 3 figures.

Yes i realize that the additions don't add value just giving people info.

But the recent work does. buying a bike that needs some slight engine work versus buying a bike that needs calipers cleaned, chains and sprockets replaced, partial replacement of wires and a new battery is a whole lot of work if you wdo the work yourself or a few £hundred£ if you dont.

Also binky > "If you could sell a non running curvy with 40k on the clocks for £500 (not £1,500) I would suggest you move to the Sahara and make a living selling sand to the locals."

"I'll offer you (and yes I am serious) £500 for this now"

I'll think about it, anybody want to buy some sand in the mean time?

I shouldn't worry about offending him Dan, he's thicker skinned than that.

Si, keep hold of it mate. You'll get a job and all will be well with the world again. Has the engine completely lunched itself or is it about to?
