went out on trike today, was pulling into my work disabled parking space , then either throttle stuck? not to sure it all happend so fast, as that happened it garred me , clutch fully let out, im half off bike as its going straight towards some sort of box by building and a car, trike somehow manages to go through, crushing side of work colleges car.and twisting the weel hub.
was well surprised after the shock wore off and mechanic looked at it that it should be reparable . the independent rear suspension struts still in one peice and holding the bike up. mainly bits that are part of a car that needs fixing will prob need some welding to streanthen joints and a couple of new brackets, weel hubs off but repairable as they are fibreglass.
2012 turning out to be a **** year
so as of now im also outa the euro ride as all my spare cash going to fix bike, booo boo
im all in one peice but bruise forming on leg and im gonna have some majour wiplash tomorrow. im just annoyed:(

nah usually really careful havent got a clue exactly what happened it all went so fast, all i do know is it unseated me and i was unable to grab brake and clutch, it was too late by the time i managed to grab them damage done, but as you say im ok except for a few aches and pains so thats the main thing, just really annoyed!!!!!!

Such a shame, you must be gutted girl! Maybe your trike's way of telling you not to do errands for that hubby of yours :-P
What's happening with the car that got hit, have you got to fork out for that too privately or is it an insurance game?

yep peed right off, car is an insurance job but as i work with her she was really nice about it another car that was a little effected, ie it had some rubber transfer of my tyre and a little(and i mean a little) red paint transfer was being a bit fussy, i could get rid of that myself, my mate offered to buff it out free of charge and she was like umm arrrgh insurance!!, i have taken pics as there was no damage for if she tries to be funny, i willing to have other go through insurance, but not that when a little t cut and polish will sort it.
trike not insured for my damage so it will be my pocket which takes that hit and my insurance premium next year boo
defo special one do not ever want to go through that again, will be thourghly checked over once all bodywork issues etc sorted.

The main thing is that you're ok

At least broken/bent mechanical bits can be repaired/replaced, but harder to do with your human bits!!!!
Main thing is your okay, bruises/stiffness should go in a few days, the bruised & bent ego maybe take a bit longer

Sorry to read this Gem. I agree with Stewie & GRH. Metal bits can be fixed, as long as you're ok thats the main thing.
(Note to self: I really need to start reading Idle Banter more often)
I can't follow what happened????

Gem, you need to prestonise what happened. i.e
“
As I came tearing down the road at 120mph avoiding all thelesser mortals in their cars and showing off my supreme riding skills to them Iswung the back end out to get it into the usual parking space. I was beingcareful with my speed being no more than 119.5 mph I controlled the slide withmy superior skills until unfortunately I out rode the bikes chassis and itbegan to crumble under me. I realised this and tried to hop off but as I dismounted(via backflip) I forgot to turn it off and when I let go of the clutch it raninto some monkey who hadn’t anticipated what I was doing and parked their carthere. So it wasn’t really my fault as the bikes just not as capable as I am.
“
Only messing lass;) just glad your ok!! Hope hes giving youplenty of hot baths, wine and back rubs to make you better.

Gemma
It is not really your fault. You have simply slept with the wrong sort and caught crashing from him.
You need to get it sorted out now before it develops to the next stage :- falling off.
You wouldn't be aware of the nasty little germ he has given you. It lies dormant and suddenly becomes active right at that moment when under normal circumstances everything was under control and for some unexplained reason you go Preston.

Unlucky Gem, at least your OK.
Why have you dropped it off with someone else? Surely Dave can fix it...we all know how good he is with bikes.
