general consensus is, is that i have gotten this far, its a dead certainty and its all the paperwork and legal stuff tomorrow. either way im still a nervous faffing wreck =D

Is it a perminant position or through an agency? they stopped employing direct at one point.

Can you believe they offered me a job there in 1996 ? :) I got offered another at the same time which had better conditions and opportunities so I took that instead.

Its for Manpower, and the word on the shop floor is that after 3 years service with manpower you get the opportunity for JLR to take you on permanent.
But for £11.45 starting hourly rate, im pretty clucking happy about that. =D

i wish it were that easy. 1000 jobs there, over 20000 applicants. i have a 1-20ish chance, and i hoped i did my best to make those odds as good as i could make them.

I know from talking form employees past and present the temps were the worst for pilfering at one point, toruble is now it will directly affect your long term employment, if JLR lose shed loads on theft, they will shed jobs its that simple.

Ive heard of whole wheel sets being taken, gearbox components, full hifi set ups etc etc.

I think its been clamped down on now in fairness, but tom i will be PM'ing you if you do get it, theres a certain thing i like from there and i dont see many people from there these days :) not illegal btw.

when i was temping at castle brom jaguar, a guy who worked there for years got caught with three or four boxes of the "leaping cat" badges in his car.
he was flogging them on ebay.

im intrigued now mate, if it involves any kind of escapades that would befit the somalian gulf, them im steering clear.

haha cheers guys, im was giggling all the way to the job centre. also, at the job centre now, they check up to make sure all the jobs you have said that you applied for, you actually have. because all of mine have been checking out, i got £100 back to work grant =D
