... Because, as we all know Rossi, Stoner, Haga and the other factory Ducati riders never fall off...

I'd rather fall off in Ducati leathers and Arai hat, than jeans and a Tee shirt and some no name lid.

I hate jealously and the term above personifies it. Its his money, he's worked just as hard for it as anyone else, let him spend it how he likes.

He's not disputing the fact that he's worked hard for it, or the fact he's crashed wearing them leathers.

It's the fact of him buying all the latest/ most expensive gear, just because some guy in Hein Gericke has suggested it. And thought he's now safe to do what 'the guys on tv do' and done the above.

& sorry but why would he be jealous? for all we know them leathers & bike could have been lent to him.

Theres also a difference between, Stoners 22years of racing and some guy just rocking up in all the latest gear & testing the fairing pannels strengtht. So you can't compare them to this scenario.

Neither can you.

The guy could well be a professional just caught out by some unknown element. Too many assumptions from everyone...

SO what if some guy in Hein Gericke sold him the most expensive gear? Again, its his money. Did he tell you he felt just as safe as the guys in TV? How do you know?

I wasn't suggesting Lozzo is jealous. The term "All the gear and no idea" is a derogatory term invented and used by those who see others with better gear than them with less experience (not just in the motorcycling world). Its based on Envy. Its reverse snobbery at it's finest (or in the usual case, worst).

It could be argued that Mr No Idea is actually taking things more seriously because he as better gear and has invested more of his hard earned on his passtime, than those doing the calling.

It could also be argued that he's saved money (yes saved) by buying the very best available instead of working up to it via several inferior purchases. Buy the best straight away actually saves you upgrading later on.

The guy bought a Ducati with his own dough, bought the leathers and helmet to match. He's living the dream and those who can't- or won't- want to knock him for it.

and how the **** can you assume the guy who crashed above in the photo, which took 1000th of a second to take, has no idea? Last year a bloke rocked up to the ACU practice day at east fortune with a Moriwaki GP2 bike and dawdled round the track. He too was also branded Mr No idea... except he wasn't. He was giving it it's first shake down and it turns out the guy is Sheet hot at the Isle of Man but didn't know East Fortune.

Why do we need to knock those that have spend more than we have or earn more than we have? We are all motorcyclists and hence linked in a common passion.

I'm genuinely happy for the All the gear guys becasue if I were in their position I'd have bought all the gear too.

not being funny but for all we know, that guy could just be the cheif motorcycle tester at ducati, and would therefore have all ducati branded gear. we have, pretty much, all fallen off at somepoint or will fall off, it happens. no matter how much experience you have, with some things such as tank slappers for example, it can go either way and about the only thing that can help you out is how waterproof your trousers are from the inside out ;)

Again you've brought money into it, noone has said anything regards money and his finances so why are you talking about it.

Now everyone has said/ thought this phrase before at the very least, now that someone has posted it everyone jumps against him?

& I don't think Lozzo actually intended to aim his "quote" persoanlly at the rider. And I'm not knocking anyone that has choosen to spend their money on what they want.

I'm not against what people post because at the end of the day you have your own opinion.

+1 to everything Berlin said. I would also offer that this guy appears to have elected to crash on a track, not a road so due credit to him for knowing where to push it a bit. Judging from what he's wearing (two piece leathers and virgin sliders) plus the fact that the bike still has it's mirrors suggests he isn't a seasoned track rider, so if we are going to jump to any conclusions about him I would offer that he has an expensive new toy and has been brave enough to go out and play with it properly. No shame in that, good luck to him.
