Does anyone know where I can get a replacement rain cover for my oxford first time tail pack? Old one thrown away by the girlfriend thinking it was packaging apparently.

Obviously the cheaper option is just to cover it with a black sack, but if I can find a replacement cover cheap then I'd prefer that.

Thanks

Thanks. Tried them and got a helpful email back stating that they don't sell to the public and I should try a stockist. Just wondered if anyone know a decent stockist?

Can I buy replacement Raincovers for my Oxford Luggage?
Yes! Replacement raincovers can be ordered through/purchased from any Oxford stockist.

IMHO Just wrap up your stuff in binbags when packing. In my experience Oxford rain covers get shredded into useless bits of plastic at speeds above 50mph.

My Oxford tailpack cover has been all over the UK and France over four years, rain, wind and shine......its still complete with no rips. Depends on how you tie it down on itself I think.

^^^ This

I've used black binbags in soft panniers and tailpacks for years and I've never had any problems. That includes three hours of torrential rain from Baden-Baden to Verdun, and a similar journey from Mariazell to Tunzendorf.

Goretex and binbags are the answer to everything. You can guarantee you'll tear one at some point so pack a spare. There's 10p well spent.

Thanks all. I think I'll nip over to my local HG at some point and see if they can help out. In the meantime bin bags will be the way forward.

I use oxford 1st stuff and I wouldn't bother with replacing the rain cover.
Just use the bags idea, I use sealable sandwich bags for the small stuff because they are clear and you can see what you need to find quickly. I then use tesco bags for everything else.

I find the extra cover a pain in the proverbial it takes up space when its not being used and once its on you have to strip it off to get back into the luggage...

The way I do it is to put a black bin bag in the tailpack/pannier/whatever and press it out so it acts as a lining for the outer skin. Then everything gets packed in as normal. It's just a way of temporarily waterproofing a non-waterproof item of luggage.

I never bother bagging up individual items.
