Making heated grips less hot!

I've got heated grips on my bike, not sure what make as they came with the bike. Anyways on the higher setting they get too hot for me particularly on my right hand which can't really get away from the bar. On the lower setting they might as well not be on.

So can I do anything about it? Some sort of resister or something? I know naff all about electronics but can learn fast lol
