New guy. First bike

Hey just signed up here on the forum. I bought my 2004 sv650s this past Wednesday for $2000!!!
The bike needs a little bit if cosmetic work which I'm already working on ;)
It needed to be washed and waxed, new mirrors, new brake severvior, front turn signals, wind screen, and the speedo needs the correct part to read properly. Other than that this bike is in great running condition!!
It has 24k miles, has been serviced every 3k miles at the cycle shop a friend of mine works at. I think this is the perfect bike for me to start out on!!

I've riden dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, and toyed around on my dads Harley fatboy....

I'm from tallahassee, Florida. I'm 22 work full time at a gun powder plant. And love my truck and bike. I'm goin this weekend to get my safety course taken care of so I can get my endorsement.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. I've got the bike looking almost brand new!! I've still got a couple of things coming in the mail but for the most part she's lookin great!!!

And also my gf bought me a little gift yesterday. I bought the AFX helmet and speed and strength jacket. She go me the OGID no-drag backpack!!

Have a look through the boots (http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=143) section of riding gear on here. Best to try a few different pairs on to see how you get on with them before you buy and if you can take your usual riding trousers (leathers etc) to see if you can close the boot up over your trouser if thats what you usually do.
Ive had sport boots but find them uncomfortable so tend to stick to touring type that i can also walk in. HTH

Did another cleaning on the bike. Put my fender eliminator on and tank pad, new shift lever and brake reservoir, and tinted oem style windscreen. Also added some Chrome bar ends, and pro grip bar grips!! Got my k&n filter coming and in a couple more weeks ill be getting exhaust and power commander!!
